Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I ordered a $32.00 magazine subscription from an independent seller from this company Worldwide Readers Service, Inc., based out of Miami Florida. You have three days to cancel your order. My husband wanted to cancel this, so we did.

The receipt we were given had a phone number that was disconnected on it. There was an address and said to send the receipt to the address given. We made a copy of this receipt then sent in the orginal. We did not ever receive the refund back until about 4 months later. We got a check in the mail for $22, not $32 which I wrote them a check for! We figured what the heck, at least we got something back, so we deposited it in our bank.

Well, yesterday, we received notice from our bank that the $22 had been pulled from our account, and that the reason was because this company account is frozen/blocked!!!

So now, we don't have the magazine we ordered, we lost our $32, and we are charged by our bank a fee for depositing the bad check.

I have called several different numbers that this company has:

305-722-7451

786-293-7994

786-293-7990

757-818-9497

All which have been disconnected. Then I called directory service and was given the number 305-233-7299. A lady answers saying "Guys and Girls". I said what, and she said who are you looking for? I told her the company name and she said their number is 757-818-9497. I called that number and it is out of service. I called her back and told her. She said they had called and spoke to them 4 times that morning. She told me to call her back in 5 minutes, so I did. Then, she said to hold on and came back and said to call her back again in 5 minutes. I did. This time she said that there number is not working and would be back working by tomorrow morning. I thought for sure I heard a baby in the background...

Something is very fishy. I have read several reports all on this company based out of Miami, Florida. We have all been scammed and taken by them, and they have taken our money and have gotten away with it! I would think that a class action lawsuit should be in order against this company. I can only imagine there are hundreds of us out there that have been scammed by Worldwide Readers Service, Inc.

Please don't hesitate to get in contact with me if you have any information on this company, a working phone number, or if you know of a lawsuit against them.

I just posted a report on the above mentioned organization. This is outright theft and not only that but extortion! They called me after trying again to debit my account for the third time and said I was behind two payments (which I cancelled and reported the fraud to my bank) threatening me with a collection agency! The nerve of these thieves is beyond imagination. Not only do they deceive you in the beginning but then try to threaten you and screw up your credit in the process.

I purchased from the "Universal Subscription Agency" back in June of this year (same phone number to contact as Worldwide Readers Service, Inc.). According to their contract / receipt, which is binding, I have 3 days to "cancel any payments made by you under the contract or sale and any negotiable instrument... within 30 business days following receipt by the seller of your cancellation notice. So, I signed the notice of cancellation (on the back of the receipt), made a copy of it, dated it, and sent it certified mail so I was notified upon receipt of my cancellation notice. I was notified that it was received on June 17th, 2008. According to their contract, I was supposed to have received my refund within 30 business days of that date, which has not happened yet. The purchase was in the amount of $106.00. I've consulted an attorney (who is a good friend of mine), and my first course of action (today) was calling the number on the receipt of 757-818-9497 (which did work, although it was an answering machine). I explained everything very calmly on my message, and said that I needed to know what they were going to do to rectify the problem, so that I could take appropriate and legal course of action, if their solution wasn't acceptable to me and the contract. If I don't hear a response, they'll be receiving a certified letter from my attorney outlining my cause of action to collect on the money owed to me, plus attorney's fees and the potential of other damages, etc... We'll see what happens. I'm pretty frustrated with the whole process. I saw it coming, but wanted to test out the waters to see what would happen. So far, this has been my experience. Also, just FYI, the bank that deposited my check was: Bank of America Bridgeton, MO 63044 (maybe 83044) For Deposit Only Universal Subscription Agency 354002814881 (or 354002814681) hard to tell the exact lettering on the copy of the deposited check I have. The contact info I have on my receipt is: Universal Subscription Agency, Inc. P.O. Box 15187 Chesapeake, VA 23328 Phone (757) 818-9497 Fax (757) 482-2427 Let me know if anyone else has taken action against them. Would love to hear comments too. -D. Robinette
