I am a local business owner that had the great displeasure of dealing with the infamous ‘Georgia’ at the Miramar Road store. Always keen to find a good deal I purchased a living room set along with bar stools and dining room table w/chairs. The sales person was nice enough, no complaints there, however 4 weeks later the furniture was delivered with the wrong barstools (which apparently now don't exist) and minus the actual dining room table.
Upon further examination the craftsmanship and quality of the furniture in general appeared low grade at best and the 'free TV' ended up being a 'broken TV'. After numerous calls to customer service no one could give a straight answer as to when, if ever, the table would be delivered or why the TV wasn't working properly. Apparently once the TV is opened, which the delivery people actually did themselves to make sure all the parts were in the box, it is my problem and Ashley's has no liability. Additionally when the furniture was delivered they left a large indention in the entry way which is another story all together.
At the end of the day I decided to cancel the order which is acceptable as long as it’s done within 72 hours of delivery. At first we were told that it was outside the 3 day grace period (furniture delivered Wednesday with cancelation request Friday – you do the math). After finally acknowledging that we were well within the 3 day grace period I was told that they would take everything back with the exception of the ‘free TV’ aka ‘broken TV’ for which they would now have to charge me for. Oh and by the way I would have to pay a pick-up fee of $84.99 just to get the furniture out of my sight. This is where ‘Georgia’ becomes part of the equation.
I called Ashley’s to understand my total out of pocket cost including the TV and was routed to ‘Georgia’. She is undeniably the rudest, most condescending person that I have ever had the misfortune to come across. How she has actually has a job is beyond me. In my line of work I have dealt with dozens of sales managers and without question she is the absolute worst. Her inherent traits seem to be total and utter lack of professionalism and complete disregard for anything even resembling ‘good’ customer service. Needless to say DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT buy furniture from Ashley’s. For a company that claims "We Want To Be The Best Furniture Company” my experience proved to be the exact opposite.
