I have between 1000-3000 songs purchased from Musicmatch Jukebox/Yahoo Music which ar unplayable because they contain Digital Rights Management and Yahoo took the validation servers off line. Yahoo claims to have notified users by email. I never saw this email. While working on this computer, one of many I have, this music will not play and is attemtptnig to contact the now offline server to validate the music.

I had no idea of this dependency to use my legally purchased music. In, fact Yahoo made false statements in a press release I found, stating that the music would continue to play if I made no changes to the operating system, which is my situation. Clearly, whoever wrote the press release was unaware of this dependency either. Yahoo made no attempt to follow up with me after there alleged email notification, via certified mail to notify me I wa going to loes my entire investment in legally purchased. I just discover all this a month ago, because

I did not have time to use this music computer because I had to quit my job to take care of my sons mental health issues, so the statute of limitations should not apply, as I was unaware of Yahoos notifications and actions until a month ago.

Yahoo has been contacted numerous times in an attempt to get the music to play or get a refund, and each time, they say nothing can be done. This is just plain wrong. I know it, Yahoo knows it, and Yahoo knows I know it. Yahoo is just being selfish and willing to let me take over a $1000 loss on a product they and their Musicmatch acquisition sold me. They made false statements that my music would continue to play and it does not. They did not use certified mail to notify me of a complete loss of my music library and say the emailed users. That is simply not a robust way to protect the interests of their customers.  Our group of similarly situated user are pursuing media and legal expossure of this selfish ripoff by Yahoo.

Didn't yahoo sell off musicmatch to rhapsody back in 2008? You've had 3 years to migrate to the new service. Seriously, how long do you expect yahoo to support a product they don't sell any longer? Its not surprising they turned off the servers, they were just costing yahoo money.
