The exact thing happened to me two days ago. My yahoo account for some reason was terminated. At first I thought I had forgotten the pass word or someone haad compromised my account. It took me all day to figure out what had happened after I contacted, (through a painful search for their number), yahoo customer service. They would not tell me why it was terminated because they did not have that information there. Which I cannot understand. I was instructed to go to yahoo.abuse.com and fill out a form. By the way the persons I spoke with were very rude and unhelpful and seem to be brainless. I filled out the form, submitted and got no response. I have hundreds of information in my account that I need for my business, plus hundreds of business contacts that I use everyday. I am very upset and angry this has happened. Especially when you are not given any reason why or what terms you violated. It's totally insane.

I had my yahoo account for 7 years in 2004. I used it to save pictures i took on my digital phone and to keep email i saved so that read over and over. I did the same thing that you did and kept trying to get into my account. I was stunned when I called and they said that I was cancelled becuase i violated one of the rules of yahoo. They did tell me why it happened they said i swore somewere but I cannot figure were becuase i am mormon and do not swear at all. They said they could not start my account agian I was relly mad at this. I had to set up a whole new account with them and lost everything I saved over on the other email. I am still upset over this.

Yahoo suddenly decides to reply to my emails, after I filed BBB report. I noticed two emails from Yahoo in my inbox today, concerning my account cancellation and BBB report. One email was a reply to my inquiry about why my account had been terminated. It said that Yahoo has the right to cancel accounts deemed to have violated the Yahoo TOS, but did not specify as to exactly why my account had been terminated. At least I got a response from an actual person. The second email concerned my BBB report. Yahoo asked for my Yahoo ID, last four digits of my CC#, and CC expiry. I went ahead and gave it to them - against my better judgement - fully intending to watch my credit card statement like a hawk. I figured I should comply with their request, in order to expedite this matter. My ex-boyfriend (current friend) told me today that a friend of his went through my exact situation a couple of months ago. He said that Yahoo did exentually reinstate his account, though. Yahoo had told him that his account cancellation was in error, but that all was well now. I'm still waiting to find out how exactly I allegedly violated Yahoo's TOS. If it's my fault, then fine; I'll chalk it up to worthwhile life experience and cut my losses. If it turns out that hacker activity, a computer glitch, or human error was to blame, I intend to do whatever is necessary to get my money back. Has anyone else besides me and my ex-boyfriend's friend gone through this with Yahoo?
