Building Owner: Greg Strangman
Building Manager: Christina Strangman
Property Manager: Marcella Boren
I moved out of Community@ Carnegie not three months ago and I could not have been happier to leave. I have no idea how LWP has a good rating because honestly it was the worst place I have ever lived.
Not only is there a TERRIBLE noise problem (we're talking people that keep you up until 4 in the morning with loud music), but there is also a vermin problem. Other people in the building constantly complained of mice, and I could hear them running back and forth on the floor above me (also a testiment to the thin floors and walls, not helping with noise issues!).
I personally had to battle fleas toward the last four months of my stay. I should have been able to eradicate them within a month at least, but was unable to, which might indicate that the whole building was fully infested.
Not only this, but whenever I attempted to contact the management, they always seemed to blow it off and didnt do anything to fix whatever problem arose.
The power went out serveral times in a matter of months, and was not restored until the next day. The internet went out many MANY times, one time it was out for almost two weeks, and the staff made excuses and ignored the complaints until people started threatening to withhold rent using the chalk board in the lobby.
Also know that if you are a nonsmoker, this building is SUPPOST to be nonsmoking, but everyone and their uncle smoke in the building anyways and the poor air circulation ensures that your apartment will reak of smoke (cigarette and other...) regardless if you smoke or not. The staff do not heed complaints well. Instead they ignore you and tell you to get over it.
I was lucky and got most of my deposit back, but I am certain this is because they stood me up on the walkthrough and felt bad that they forgot to show up! This alone shows how little the staff care about their residents.
Renters beware. It is an old building that is not well restored, and the staff doesnt care enough to even take care of the vermin problem. I have no idea how it is at other establishments that are owned by LWP, but it is likely that they have similar issues. I will definately confirm one of the other reviews on here also, they do seem like they are trying to build a community of hipsters!
