I called a local GM dealership for a quote on replacing spark plugs on my car, and they said $249. I confronted the service manager at Zolman Tire about the apparently excessive labor charge. I also provided pdfs of the webpages from alldata.com about the GM published labor time and the instructions for replacing spark plugs as well as quote from the local GM dealership. The manager claimed that the 2.5 hour labor charge was based on an accurate estimate from Mitchell service. He also said that in reviewing my invoice, he discovered that I was overcharged by $52 for the cost of the spark plugs themselves. Consequently, he credited me for this overcharge. He was very congenial, and he urged me to contact him, personally, to schedule any future service on my vehicle. At this point, even though my car is not under warranty, I will be going back to the dealership for future service and repairs. *sigh*
