Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I was contacted by Alum Financial (Jeff Mather) while driving and offered what sounded like a great student loan repayment program. Unfortunately, when I arrived home and did some research, I found out I did not qualify for the program and that this company has horrendous reviews. I immediately cancelled my application. Jeff was great at communicating while taking my money but I heard only crickets once I cancelled.

Over the new couple days, I recieved multiple texts and email requesting additional documentation. Of course, I did not reply because I emailed them to cancel my application within 24 hours.

Yesterday they charged me $250 for "work" done on my file over the past few weeks. Wendy told me it was non-refundable as the work was already completed. In addition, my account would be sent to collections for the balance. Why would she say that if I hadn't missed a payment?

I was very clear with Jeff Mather if I could cancel this and he assured me it was very simple. I guess he meant once they took my money.

They have a BBB Rating of "F" so that obviously says something about a company that shows they've only been around for one year. It is extremely hard to get that rating unless you are intentionally scamming people.

DO NOT WORK WITH ALUM FINANCIAL!!!

I disputed the charge with my credit card company and she called them while I was on the phone. Alum Financial hung up on her.

You have been warned!

We didn't even need to read past the words "while driving" to see where this was going.  I'm going to go out on a limb here and figure you didn't actually graduate college. Or if you did perhaps you may have a better case against the school that gave you the degree.  At least tell us you were using a Hands Free device.

Because according to your narrative, this company just called you out of the blue and was able to talk you into providing your personal information and a credit card to sign up for their program...while you were DRIVING. Your license plate must read 1BGSUKR

As for the BBB. Perhaps you should look up things such as "BBB Pay for Play" to see how reliable anything from the BBB is.
