Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I reached out to BTR to cancel my 5-radio series show, as I reconsidered immediately after providing my credit card details over the phone December 1, 2020.  I received a contract by e-mail earlier that day and decided I could not proceed at this time, due to my already overloaded financial constraints.  I am a very new business (operating less than six months) and I do not have the cash flow at this time.   For the past 12 days I have been trying to reach someone to discuss a refund and they keep giving me the 'run around' indicating that I need to talk to 'someone else'.  I finally received an e-mail eight days later from someone who indicated he could process the refund, but when I tried following up subsequent to our email exchange, he stopped resopnding to my e-mails and was unreachable over the phone.

I have documented every phone call and e-mail I have sent to this organization since December 1st.  I am outraged at what I consider to be 'bad business practices' and I am posting this to other small businesses to see.

When I signed up for the radio shows initially, I felt pressured and put on the spot by the “Executive Producer” James Anthony, who told me I needed to provide my credit card immediately over the phone.  He started the call telling me how great my “8-minute radio show” was and that I had scored very high and they wanted me back on their show.  I was very excited at first.  He told me that 68% of the callers I spoke with over the raido would become clients.  I am actively seeking clients as I am a new business.  Then he told me the financial commitment was $2,500.00.  He pressured me to provide the information now, as this was an amazing opportunity for my business, indicating he would “personally handle” everything for me, including media and “press release” stuff.  I felt like this would be a great opportunity, but also felt like I was being pressured at the same time.  While I should have said no right away, I went against my better judgment and signed up there and then.  However, I immediately felt taken advantage of and wanted out right away.  I knew my business could not support the initial expense at this time, and I told James Anthony I could not commit to a time and day for my radio shows anyway, as I have a part-time teaching position and had not gotten my January schedule yet.  He told me that was okay and we could always schedule the dates later.  I reluctantly gave my credit card information.

Immediately following that transaction, I knew I needed to cancel this and I reached out to BTR at the e-mail address on their website ([email protected]) to initiate my refund request.  I had not signed the contract, and had no intention of signing the contact.
