Covenant Healthshare Ministries is a company located in Georgia is a complete scam. I paid my healthshare premiums automatically every month and when I received a bill from medical treatment for alleged lung cancer the total came to $125,000.  After a lung biopsy I didn't have lung cancer but was stuck with this bill of $125,000. Covenant Healthshare took over for Aliera and Trinity Healthshare which by the way has been taken to court for fraud. Covenant Healthshare took over for these two fraudulent healthshare companies. Covenant is a healthshare ministry hiding behind being a Christian Company and not health insurance so they can't be regulated by state or federal insurance guidelines that keep consumers safe.  I had submitted all my medical bills to Covenant Healthshare and they only covered about $10,000 of the $125,000 I owed for my 3 hospital stays.  I would call the number on my insurance card and I would not be able to get any information on what bills were being paid.  Once I wrote my state of Wisconsin government, was the only time that all my bills were listed and what bills were being paid.  All bills were approved by Covenant Healthshare because I didn't have any pre-existing condition and I was told that the bills would be shared. But, none of that happened. No one would call me although they told me time and time again, someone would talk to me about my bills and when they would be paid. It has been 2 years later and no one has called and no money other than the 10K was paid.  I went with Covenant Healthshare thinking it was an insurance company because I was told that Aliera and Trinity were sold to Covenant Healthshare.  And at that time, I was under the delusion that Aliera, Trinity and Covenant were all insurance products. Because originally an insurance agent sold me the policy for health care coverage.  Covenant Healthshare is a total scam, and I have even complained to the FTC, the State of Wisconsin and the department that regulates non-profit companies. No one could help. And nothing has come of it. I was left with $115,000 in medical bills.  And to date their website hasn't been working since 2021 since I had signed up with them...how convenient.  So no one will give you any updates or answers about your bills etc.  Covenant Healthshare is no different than Aliera-Trinity who are currently being sued for taking consumers money and not covering members medical bills.

The insurance agent sold me Trinity-Aliera, and it was fine, because I never got sick.  My business accountant recommended the Healthshare insurance as a way to save money. And, recommended the insurance agent that sold me the "insurance".  I hired people for services that were outside of my realm of knowledge to help me with my business that I own;  the accountant and the insurance agent. I believed they knew what they were doing. When you hire people who are in an industry you personally aren't familiar with; there is a level of trust that they actually know more than you do about the industry in which they specialize.  Unfortunately, this wasn't the case.  And, not until I got really sick did I find out that there was absolutely no regulation for Healthshare insurance.  And, not until I got sick, and incurred all these medical bills, did I realize that this was a scam.  I never had to shop for my own insurance before.  Since all my life I was an employee.  How would I have known? I am not in the healthcare business. And, because I had never owned a business before, I hired an accountant to do my business and personal taxes.  Not having a history of ever  being sick, I never had to deal with insurance companies that much.  So, no I didn't know the difference.  And, with everything in the human resources realm in which I work there is heavy regulation.  So, why would I ever think, here is an insurance agent recommending a product, even the insurance agent didn't know about?  Why would you hold me to a different standard then?

You bought something that is specifically not health insurance and takes advantage of a loophole to avoid laws that try to protect you from scammers. Why are you surprised that it's a scam?
