My husband was referred to Desert Pain Specialist when we first moved here a few years back to retire, he was an avoid golfer but his spinal injuries were debilitating. We moved here to retire among the lovely courses and family we had nearby.
The nightmare started right after my husband left the doctor, the staff immediately asked for payment and scheduled additional tests and visits to other specialist without treating him. We didn’t have our insurance transferred over yet as we just moved but paid for it our of our own funds in good faith.
They wanted him to redo a lot of lab tests and radiologies that they didn’t accept or claimed they never got. He was already in severe pain so I had my daughter run down to drop off his file and we waited over a week and never heard back. When we went around asking for help from others, we learned rumors begin to spread, which I won’t get into to protect everyones privacy.
Eventually the office called me asking to schedule ANOTHER treatment, and I asked what about the first one that we paid for? They hung up and eventually came back and gave a lengthy excuse, and asked us to come down again. Which we did and they asked for payment again, and my husband was ushered out and left untreated again!
It was then we learned through a friend who happened to work for MesaView that my husband appears to have been put on some list. They made some disparaging remarks about him and his past which was completely false and slanderous. We already had lab work from his previous doctor.
Over the year we learned of a network of corrupt staff that takes over control, away from the doctors here and set up tests and visits to rack up charges and unnecessary trips, visits, exams, and tests to overbill and generate revenue for themselves.
We did seek help from other sources, including the police and the newspaper but they were caught up in their own battles that year. The media in Mesquite was shut down over some scandle and our bank could not help us as we had just moved and didn’t use a credit card that hadn’t been issued yet.
To make matters worse, I learned his doctor had moved out of Mesquite due to the corruption. It was just terrible. The depth of corruption here in Mesquite has gotten so horrific that we have since moved out of mesquite. I feel very sorry for leaving our wonderful friends behind, but there is such a terrible lack of medical care for a retirement community and underlying corruption that we just can not live here any more.
