Dr. Kerry Heuter Veterinarian Our Beloved Cat is Dead after Abuse and Battery New York
We trusted Dr. Heuter and had no idea that our beloved 16 year old cat would be abusively handled and literally terrifed to the point of having a heart attack while being man-handled and battered in the back exam room [away from us as we sat in the waiting room not realizing the horror that she was subjected to in the back examination room where pet parents are 'not allowed' which now I realize is WRONG].
Dr. Heuter downplayed her condition of literally being in shock with her eyes dialated, bleeding and drooling from her mouth as she struggled to breathe with her mouth open and hunched over in her cage.... it was a heart wrenching sight and our urgent questions of her condition after being in the back for a simple blood test and ultrasound were all dismissed and downplayed.
Our cat was misdiagnosed as just 'needing to calm down' after being chased with a towel [as she tried to run from Dr. Heuter and the pink-haired, unqualified, terrible Vet Tech].
She had a heart attack, and was an elderly, 16 year old and very delicate cat whom we loved dearly and thought she would be properly and humanely cared for.......
But to our horror, she was abused by Dr. Heuter who just IGNORED her fright and did not STOP any process at all, but just barreled on through an aggressive set of tests without caring for the emotional and physical state of a Cat in SHOCK and whom we REPEATEDLY TOLD THIS VET in the lobby that she has hyperthyroidism and we suspected the subsequent heart and kidney conditions that usually accompany this condition with elderly cats.
Our cat never recovered from this terrible Vet abuse.
We were mocked over the phone by Dr. Heuter the next morning when we called with our alarm over her heavy, open-mouth breathing and unable to eat or drink.... He joked that he 'can't send a Chiropractic adjustment for her.'
He caused enormous confusion in two trusting and highly educated pet parents and the HUGE delays that were also caused by his continual downplaying of her condition as we explained she had not recovered over night stopped us from seeking immediate care at another hospital close by immediately.
He misdiagnosed her condition both during and after this abusive and terrifying Vet visit.
Our most beloved 16 year old died in my arms the day after being fatally injured by this Vet and misdiagnosed for her shock from the rough handling of her delicate, tiny body.
The disrespect we have suffered and then losing our beautiful family member due to the malpractice of someone we thought we could trust is beneath contempt.
