Pregnancy/baby scam! After 1 week encounter during holiday, she claimed to be pregnant and texted photos of pregnancy over 7 months but at the last minute changed plans to avoid me coming to the birth. In the ensuing months, she sent photos of the child but continually made excuses as to why the child wasn’t available and eventually lied about the child’s death, showing photos of a botched hospital operation on her phone although never providing details. Police had to get involved but as typical in Indonesia, corrupt police did not determine the fate of the child or whether she had lied. I had to walk away without having the truth established by law enforcement. Overall, about $20,000 USD lost on flights, gifts, expenses, lost time... She lied about almost everything in her life including education, family background, occupation, and place of birth.
She seems to be looking to entrap men in scam-like situations for profit. She may be dangerous and possibly linked to organised crime. In our last encounter before I went to the police she tried to lure me to a remote location in Nusa Penida.
