Besides being a Reporter, I'm also a writer, game programmer, and mod writer. Just searching my name on the internet basically brings up my life's work. Most of it, I do freely for the community, especially my articles on scams and ripoffs to be aware of in the gaming community.
I'm very good at what I do, but sometimes what I would like to do in a game, whether cheating or improving something lame in a title is sometimes beyond me. My mods and Trainor's are limited to what I know, so once in a blue moon, I look at others work to use features I myself have yet to figure how to do, which was how I discovered the plich.com Trainor scam today. Looking up several familiar titles to see how good this new site was, discovered to my horror, and infuriation, that this Trainor website, is making money off of not just the developers work, but stealing work that I and other mod writers have given to the community in the past completely free!!
They are making money off of people who are ignorant of a game titles features built into the game, or features that can be freely added at no cost to the customer, and replacing the author's name with their own!!!
Let's look at two titles I myself have worked on, on Steam. Starbound and Terraria. Search those titles up, and see not just my name, but many who made free mods for those titles! When I and others add content or cheats, they are code the developers allowed us to write and be added to any game to make playing easier should the player want the features. Not everyone wants different content, not everyone wants to cheat, so it's an option available and given freely for those who want them. I never write a mod for a title, unless the developer is ok with it. If they are ok with it, and I can do it, and it's wanted, I write a mod you can subscribe to. If the game has no modding capability, and what is needed is beyond the developer, or their too busy, then I write an outside utility called a Trainer, that works only with the title it's meant for! Could you imagine the chaos that would happen if I didn't? Last thing I want is godmode for one of my games, getting used in TF2!! It wouldn't be fair to the other players, if one single player could take them all out and never die. I limit most of mine to single player titles, or multiplayer titles that only the owner of the server can activate if they so choose. Even the developers put in cheats and godmodes, which is no secret, you just got to look or ask. What I never expected, was a pretty large company like Plich, to make a menu system, using my code and the developers, and stamp their name on it as their very own! These trainers Plich is selling, is only sending the commands that are already in the game, or can be added through the modding system. They are making $10 a month, or $60 a year for features already in these games!
Save your money. Don't pay them a dime. Discussions, Workshop, these are the two main sections most developers will list their admin panels, mods, and cheats for their games. Don't let Plich, Plich your money!!
