Complaint Review: Shaynna Hobson (Social Service Worker - Portland Oregon) - Portland Oregon

Ms. Shaynna Hobson, an employee at Transition Projects and through Multnomah County (Portland, Oregon) is a local villan masquerading as a social justice warrior. Ms. Hobson's about face and bait and switch behavior is a well-perfected Jekyll and Hyde. To the onlooker, there is no 'split' - Ms. Shaynna Hobson is perfect. But, to those (dis) serviced by her wrath and fire breathing, the obvious Hyde is revealed. 

Ms. Hobson is crafty at first, hiding her dark side to the most vulnerable which she (dis) services. But, anyone who has fallen on hard times, who has walked through the doors of Transition Projects (if even for a night) has by chance experienced her wrath and fire breathing. With that said, this note is a public service announcement, with an aim to protect the most vulnerable in the community. And, to dissuade anyone from using the county or Transition Projects homeless services. 

During the day, Ms. Hobson reports to Transition Projects and to Multnomah County. She does busy desk work and writes reports on 'clients' to save face and ultimately save her job at the expense of 'the poor'. She appears to be well-versed in her 'subject' to city officials.

Occasionally, Ms. Hobson gives tours of The Wilamette Center, the newest homeless shelter in the City of Portland, the SE quadrant. The tours exploit 'the poor.' Photographs have been taken of the inside of The Wilamette Center and posted publicly on social media. Some of the photos display the personal belonings of a suffering person and/or a suffering person in distress.

At night,  when Ms. Hobson runs loose, she violently screams and lashes out at vulnerable women in the 'dungeon' section of The Wilamette Center.

The dungeon section of The Wilamette Center is in the far, far back corner of the building and has no windows. There are closed doors on each end with a vertical widow people can 'peer' through. In the dungeon, floors are concrete and there is a sunroof for limited light. Lockers on the far side (which Ms. Hobson can, and will access at her leisure).

There is a stack of flimsy bunk beds, much unlike the kind one would see in a cabin while at a winter ski retreat. There is a row of 10, then 6.  The bed frames are so flimsy that you could potentially break the bed if you bounced on it and you were say, 125 lbs. There are no guardrails along many of the bunk beds - the bottom in particular. So, if you roll around while asleep, you may very well roll right onto the concrete.  A single jail cell would offer more privacy - without any doubts. 

If the dungeon were a rental property, it would not pass an inspection code, because there needs to be a window for the renter to escape in the event of a fire or true emergency.  Here is the code for the City of Portland for room rentals: https://www.portlandoregon.gov/citycode/article/18210.

How can Ms. Hobson consciosuly perform the duties of her job, knowing she is endangering people who are sleeping in a crowded space - with no easy exit in the event of any true emergency?. This is a 'holding room' where people could easily be held hostage, tortured, and killed and noone would ever know. It is one of the scariest places in The State of Oregon.

In the evening, Ms. Hobson goes about with her little routine 'check' to insure people were appropriately available to be in their bed. She made people stand next to the bed while she went around with a clipboard checking off 'people'.  During this time, she would yell at individual people, "What is this (a sweatshirt) doing here (on the bedpost).?" The 'rules' of Transition Projects include having no coats or hoodies, or sweatshirts etc. hanging on the post of one's bed.

People do this all the time - out of habit, likely. Ms. Hobson would publicaly humiliate people via verbal abuse in front of one another, often making threats such as, "one more and you're out" or "if you do this again, you will be 'exited.'"  (the term 'exited' is a term used by the (dis) organization to completely remove a homeless person from the shelter in the form of bagging a person's belonings up into 30 gallon black garbage bags). At times,  Ms. Hobson would write people up in front of the whole group. These 'write ups' are infractions that build, which will ultimately lead the person being 'exited.' She would hand the 'write up' to a person in front of everyone, and, right before bed!

 Ms. Hobson was known to take and/or touch other people's sweatshirts, hoodies, coats etc. right in front of a room full of roughly 30 people. Did she eventually give them back? Good question - maybe you should write to Ms. Hobson and ask her yourself.

Side note: It was rumored that Ms. Hobson had served a sentence in a local prison. She has obviosuly not healed from her wounds and should not be working with the public, given her very reactionary and vile approach towards 'storing people.' 

Ms. Hobson's darth demanor, attempts to: 'steal' the attire of homeless people, follow through with bagging up homeless women's belonings into several garbage bags and throwing it on the street/garbag dump in the person's absence, and inability to be calm in a public setting (aka screaming at homeless people about menial and trivial 'sweatshirt hanging' violations). This darth demeanor is indicitative that Ms. Hobson suffers severly from post-traumatic stress and projects her post-traumatic stress onto vulnerable people. Ms. Hobson clearly is a threat to others and herself and should be looked at for a psychatirac evaluation (making threats to elderly people, and people with cognitive disabilities who are ALSO homeless). 

Still, Ms. Hobson is relentless in making harsh and threatening demands to know about people's lifestyles outisde of The Wilamette Center. She will ask for paystubs to where you work, a copy of a Dr.'s note for a medical visit, and a schedule to where you attend college or university. You are powerless, and she owns every part of you, once you enter into The Wilamette Center. She can and will access your belonings on your bed/locker when you are not there. You can set her up, and you will catch her to know this very fact.

The Willamette Center is certainly run as is a jail. The City of Portland did not build a homeless shelter - it built another jail and improsioned hundres upon hundreds of vulnerable homeless people who sought refuge in the most trying of times. The Wilamette Center is not a refuge, sanctuary, or peace house - it is a jail. 

There should be a class action lawsuit against Ms. Hobson and her cronies for engaging in Crimes Against Humanity against elderly homleess, disabled homeless, and everyone else in between. You will have night terrors for years to come if you enter into The Wilamette Center for just one night. If you have never been in jail, this will be your first night in jail. If you have never served a jail sentence, and you have been here longer than 3 days, you are creating your own jail sentence each day.
