I purchased a 3 year old 3 series BMW from 21 century auto group. The saleman was very deceptive and tried to tack on a reconditioning fee on the sales price. The car itself looked nice but after the purchase( a week and 350 miles) it started overheating. I called the dealership 23 times and spoke to numerous people and was delayed everytime. apparently they are know with the BBB and there tactic is toi stall until the 30 day warranty runs out. They have a stellar rating on the dealer rater website but that is due to there people creating user names and leaving fake testamonials.

The real stry is told on this site and the BBB website. I was able to get the sales managers contact info but i was still ignored. luckily my brother is a mechanic and I was able to get the engine rebuilt at his cost. It is unbelievable that these people are able to victimize car buyers again and again. I was able to get some info to send complaints to:Craig Van Baulen, Sales manager at 21st century auto group. 1724 Burrsville Road, Brick New Jersey 08724

First of all, HOW DARE YOU include the home address and personal information of an employee.  For that reason alone you will receive NO further consideration of your situation from this dealership.  How would YOU feel if we put YOUR personal information out there for all to see.  Let's get one thing straight here.  You bought a USED luxury car.  They are in general very complicated, and very expensive to maintain and repair.  The poster has conveniently left digits off of his story, not truthfully stating how many miles he put on his vehicle before he started having problems with it.  His car WAS NOT covered under the 2 month 2K mile warranty at the time of his complaint.  We DO put every car we take in through a 169 point inspection the same as any other dealer.  Mechanical problems are not always evident at that point.  The dealer prep fee you mentioned is CLEARLY stated in every online posting we have on our website.  There was no deception here, but rather an unattentive/uninformed buyer.  We sell hundreds of cars here every month and generate hundreds of satisfied customers every month. If you can't afford to maintain a BMW, you should consider buying a Honda or a Toyota. In my experience, msot negative online reviews of used car dealers are nothing more than garden variety cases of buyer's remorse.  Again, if you can't afford to own one of these cars, DON'T BUY ONE.
