24 Hour Fitness Fraudulent Automatic Withdrawals ripoff Austin Texas
I was a member of 24 Hour Fitness in Hawai'i, and had my monthly dues automatically withdrawn from my checking account. (This was the only option given to me, as I was unable to make a lump-sum yearly payment.)
When I opened a bank account in Texas, I went into the gym to fill-out all the necessary paperwork to change the payments from my Hawai'i account to my Texas bank account.
They then proceeded to withdraw money from BOTH bank accounts each month, for 1 1/2 years! They also withdrew money from my Texas account TWICE each month. It took me MONTHS to have this resolved. In the meantime I racked-up numersous NSF fines, and was put on a checking alert system, and had a heck of a time getting into a new apartment. I only got back about 1/2 of the money, as well.
Unless one can get to they actual main office in person, GOOD LUCK, getting anywhere with these people. They do not care one IOTA about you, just your money. I still shake my head whenever I drive by any of their gyms.
Their poor customer service doesn't end there. I had great personal trainers, luckily. But EVERY single other person I dealt with was at best, uninformed, and at worst, out right hostile.
I strongly urge people to not even consider using 24 hour fitness, even for 5 bucks a month. THey are beyond awful.
