My trainer Jared talked me into buying a shake mix and promised me I could return the Muscle Milk shake mix if it made me sick. I told him Slim Fast Shake mix made my throat burn. He assured me that I could return the shake mix and get a store credit if it did not meet my expectations. He did not warn me that there was a extremely strict return policy about keeping receipts and only within 30 days.

He assured me that I could return the Muscle Milk mix on my next visit, and did not mention a receipt being required for the return. I do not remember whether he gave me a receipt or not (I don't think he did, since I never throw away any receipt and I could not find it).

I attempted to return the product and was denied twice; first because I did not produce a receipt and second because it had been more than 30 days since I purchased the product. I am a busy full time student and single parent and did not have time to return the product sooner. I hadn't planned on returning the product in the first place since I didn't know it would cause the same reaction as the Slim Fast shake mix.

Since I had a good reason for returning the product, (it made my throat burn and gave me allergic reaction symptoms like asthma attack and chest tightness, burning, as well as indigestion and diarrhea), I expected to get a store credit for the $30. Now I am out the money and very disappointed with them for being so hard-nosed about returning their not-so-great products.

I will never buy any product from 24 Hour Fitness store again, since I will have an extremely difficult time returning anything that does not meet my expectations. They may have saved $30., but they have lost customer loyalty and I will not hesitate to warn any other person from shopping at their store.

I asked for a 1-800 number to get some sort of resolution and got nowhere. I attempted to find a corporate office in Portland OR and got a number that just rings and rings. Way to take care of customers 24 Hour Fitness! It's not the money, it's the principle of good business and consumer confidence!
