John Darer Help Us When Somerset Wealth Strategies Inc.(Thomas Hamlin) Secondary Market Annuity Investment of $149,253.83

#2REBUTTAL Individual responds

Mon, February 05, 2018

We contacted everyone that could possibly be contacted from FINRA Securities Hotline for seniors,  CFPB (Consumer Financial Protection Bureau), SEC every attorney that was listed that specialized in investments fraud cases and no one could help us.  Can you imagine as retirees, we are looking forward to enjoying our senior years and we thought we had found a conservative investment with Thomas Hamlin at Somerset Wealth Strategies.  The rate was 4.75% with a 2% COLA.  The investment was advertised on Somerset's website as a secondary market annuity.

Brian Horn was my first point of contact at Somerset.  Mr. Horn inforned me that their attorneys goes through all the paperwork and that transfer of the annunity must go through the courts with a judge's approval.  There never was a mention of any RISK involved with this transaction.  Purchase was made in November 2013 and payment start date was Jan. 24th 2018.  Payout was suppose to be $1,595 monthly for 132 months (10 years) with a 2% COLA yearly.  My husband & I thought it would be a very good investment with payments for 10 years.  About 18 months prior to the our 1st payment date (Jan. 2018) we receive this 2 page document "Hold Harmless And Indemnification Agreement" agreement from INF Settlement Trust (Integrity Funding Group, Inc.).

The fact that Tom Hamlin @ Somerset Wealth Strategies NEVER attempted to let us know that our investment was in jeopardy because of a pending lawsuit is UNACCEPTABLE!  By google search "secondary market annities" I came accross John Darer's blog & website.  Thank God for this MAN! John explain to me that we were not the only ones.  He was very sympathetic to what we were going through.  John had a listening ear & he help me to better understand what had actually happen with our investment.  We really needed some clarification becuse we were so confused.  Can you imagine having invested the majority of our 401K investment after retirement & NO ONE GIVES A DAM!

Not even the company & CEO "Thomas Burgess Hamlin" cared enough to contact his investor.  I would like to know how a transfer of an annuity can go through the courts & be signed off by a judge and not be considered as a loss to me & my husband (purchasers).  This is the explaination we received from the CEO, Thomas Hamlin.  In May 2016, the Maryland's Attorney General filed a complaint alleging that Access Funding, LLC, which originated the Secondary Market Annuity (structured settlement payments) DEFRAUDED the individuals who were paid cash in exchange for their right to the payments.

Although the complaint alleges wrongdoing only by Access Funding & related pparties - not by investors who acquired the right to these payments, or the firms that arranged them - the complaint asks the court to VOID the judgments that approved & AUTHORIZED the transfer, and to determine that future payments be made to the original payees under the structured settlements.  We (my husband & I) are victims of some sort of SCAM which the courts approved.  Who is protecting us as investors.  How can Thomas Burgess Hamlin (Founder & CEO) t Somerset Wealth Strategies be allow to run a company that invest millions but he is not insured to cover his losses.  Who is watching the Thomas Hamlin firms of today?  Who is fighting to protect our retirees today??  Do we have judges in our court system that on the payroll of some of these firms?  Why do we have judges to sign off on these transfers and/or sales of these annuities if someone can turn around VOID the sale??  Is this what American has become?

John Darer Settlement Planner Scam

John Darer is a notorious scammer. I met him at a conference last year and he was an absolute mess. He calls me to get a proverbial pat on the back as he seeks "dirty" information on other people. He has proven to be a very unreliable source for information and has multiple complaints tied to john darers 4structure business. He is a one man show and is not licensed in multiple states but yet he shows up on Google as being licensed to practice. He then will ask me for more dirt on companies but he needs to clean up his act and not just his dinner plate. John Darers boyfriend should be ashamed for dating a man as sloppy and disgusting as him.
