On January 31, 2009 I drove my vehicle to a second repair facility to have the repair performed at 5 Star inspected. The second repair facility reported to me, the engine that had been installed was a 1997 model engine, not a 1998 model as invoiced by 5 Star, the exhaust manifold were not the correct type for a 1998 model engine, the transmission VIN stamping had been sealed with an epoxy type substance, and the transmission was not equipped with a limited slip differential. The second repair facility also reported, based on wear the engine and transmission appeared to have 60,000-80,000 miles and not the 30,000 mile reported by Jay.

On or around Feburary 5, 2009, I proceeded to contact Jay at 5 Star about the problem.  Jay assured me that the problem would be fixed, and he would contact the engine supplier as soon as possible.  After talking to his supplier, Jay told me the engine supplier (hmotorsonline.com)  would not let him return the engine but would replace the transmission when they got them in stock.  Jay also agreed to replace the failed starter on my car while I waited to hear back.

 On or around May 16, 2009, I went to 5 Star and talked to Jay again about the problem. He told me the parts were in, yet the supplier was unwilling to part-out the engines/transmissions.  I asked Jay to please call the supplier again to request the parts needed. Jay told me he would, then call me back.
At this time I also picked up my car from the shop. After driving the car to my home and parking, the car would not turn back on. I again called Jay about the problem. He told me he had installed a brand new starter and did not know what the problem was.  At this time I again asked Jay about to status of the relpacement engine and transmission.  He told me he would check and call me back. To this day Jay is still unwilling to honor his "mistake" and I have never received a call back from Jay.
