Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

8000 Uptown Apartments in Broomfield, CO is a place you want to avoid. They make big promises, but you'll quickly find that this "community" will give you nothing but headaches.

We have had many small issues from the pool rules being violated (visitors staying in making noise until 2am), to having our children harassed by their concierge director. Seriously, kids play outside. It's what they do. If they are not damaging something then I'm not sure you have much to complain about and you certainly cannot tell me my kids cannot play outside.

However, you can chalk most of these offenses up to apartment living, but when we moved out we found out what it was like to be ripped off. I honestly have never seen a property company pull this kind of stunt.

We expected some fees for breaking our lease, but even after cleaning and leaving the apartment in what we thought was pretty good condition (we lived here for one year) we received a bill that included replacing a refrigerator ($500), not because it was broken or stained, but because it was cosmetically scratched by the magnets we used to hang up our kids drawings, seriously come one. Apparently the quartz counter top needed replacing too which is absolutely absurd, but was billed out at $800.

Other charges included $80 for carpet cleaning, $170 for general cleaning, even though we left the place clean. We have since forwarded our move -out video to the company. I don't hold out a lot of hope though.

The fridge and counter top did not need to be replaced and I feel the only reason they were is because the place is still trying to fill up and they want every apartment to look "new" even if it is not. I mean when you live in a place for a year there's going to be a little wear and tear. Neither of these big ticket items were damaged though!

It's Unbelievable.

In total we had a move out fee of nearly $3500 and that was after the kept our $1600 deposit. Personally I think it's highway robbery and we will be notifying the Better business bureau and our local housing authority about this behavior.

I am hopeful that others will not fall for this places "big promises" and hopefully our experience can save you some grief (and money).
