86th Photo & Video Company Will Lure You With Price & Then Try To Upsell. Then Place On Backorder New York New York
I purchased an order for the Sony DSC-T200 from 86th Photo & Video on 12/17/07. Today, 12/18/07, I got an email requesting me to contact the company regarding my order and to ask for Jason. I called the company and waited for 20 minutes before Jason answered the phone. He asked me to confirm my order, address, phone and credit card number.
After that, he asked me why I didn't purchase any accessories such as an extended battery or memory card. I told him that I wasn't interested because I already owned those items. He tried a few seconds more and then concluded that my item would be shipped in 2-3 weeks. About 20 minutes later, I received an email stating... "This notification is sent to you from our shipping department.
We regret to inform you that by the time your order reached the shipping process, our inventory on the product(s) you ordered was negative, therefore your order will be placed on a temporary backorder until we
receive the product(s) back again in stock which will be in about 3-4 weeks.
Please note that your credit card will not be charged, as long as, your order has not shipped.
You can modify and/or cancel this order at any time before it is shipped without incurring any charges or fees to your account.
To cancel Please email us at [email protected] with the
Phrase "Please cancel Order# ____" in the subject - DO NOT FORGET TO INCLUDE YOUR ORDER NUMBER.
We will keep you updated with further emails about the status of your order.
You will receive a separate email with shipment confirmation once your order is shipped.
We apologize again for this inconvenience and Thank you for your business.

Now I don't know if this is a scam or what, but I find it hard to believe that everyone is experiencing the same sort of thing. Something aint quite right with this picture. This was a true "let down."
