Cullen Powell was to be my internet marketing partner, selling a product that I developed. As part of the agreement I paid him upfront for the web development costs that he would incur. He never started work on the project. For a year he kept promising but never delivered anything. Finally I ask to be repaid. It took him 6 months just to pay back 3/4 of the money. He never repaid the rest of the money and stopped replying to me. I trusted Cullen because he came highly recommended from someone else he worked with but clearly he is not trustworthy. Find a different internet marketer...he is not a good choice.

Here's the real story

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Fri, September 04, 2015

I just became aware of this. When you work with as many clients as I do there are always going to be a few bad apples. This is a given.

While I don't appreciate Karen blasting my personal information on Rip Off Report I have redacted hers from the screenshot below. My reputation speaks for itself and I'm not in the business of defaming people when my own personal interests fail.

The truth is Karen hired my company to develop her business. We absolutely started development and collaborated with Karen extensively throughout the process. For months. The project came to a stand-still after agreeing she needed to re-shoot the videos which were at the very core of her project. This was the content we needed in order to continue development. She failed to deliver on this.

A few months later we finally hear from her stating she "dropped the ball" and was ready to complete her deliverables. (screenshot attached) She further stated she didn't "have the push" to "get this thing going".

We initially agreed to pick back up on development. We quickly realized it simply wasn't going to work out. I offered to eat the losses and refund her 100% of her money. She agreed to receive this spread out over a certain period of time. Our cost had already far outnumbered the initial deposit she paid. It was (and still is) my understanding that she was paid back her deposit in full. The last communication I had with Karen was letting her know about my new email address. She also has my personal cell phone number where she could have reached me as well if she had any issues. Unfortunately this is the first time I'm hearing about this from Karen.

The fact of the matter is I am the one who lost out here. Not Karen. She paid her initial deposit which was quickly consumed in development fees. We continued under an agreement that we would receive a percentage of her revenue after the product launch. It quickly became apparent this was not going to happen. This is a simple case of someone expecting to fork over a few bucks to a development company and expecting to get rich. You can't buy a business and you can't expect another business to build your business for you. Karen, some words of advice for you... you have to be willing to work (or at the very the do the work you agreed to do).

Karen if you truly feel you were not paid back all of the money that was agreed upon feel free to contact me by phone and I will personally make sure you're taken care of. Irregardless of your attempt to defame me I am a man of high integrity and I do keep my word.

Hi Cullen,

I hope you're okay and had a great Thanksgiving.  I've dropped the ball on keeping in touch with you regarding the project.  I won't make excuses but I'm finally checking in :)  Just let me know how it's going and what else you need from me (in addition to me finally finishing all the videos!)

All the best,
Karen
