A and A II Auto Rental listed a 2008 Ford Focus SES for sale on eBay, describing the car as an SES model and in good condition. I won the auction on 8/15/12 and received the car on 9/7/12 but the car I received was the cheaper SE model, not the SES model described in the eBay listing. The car also had undisclosed and unrepaired FRAME DAMAGE in the trunk floor spare tire well from a previously poorly repaired rear end collision (also not disclosed). I obtained 2 bodyshop estimates of around $3400 to repair the frame damage. Mike refuses to admit the car has frame damage and even went so far as to attempt to blame me! He has refused to take the car back and reimburse my purchase price plus the $700 I paid the have the car shipped from Connecticut. I contacted eBay's Vehicle Protection Plan insurance. They offered to pay to ship the car back to him; all he had to do was send them a cashier's check payable to me in the amount of my purchase price. They would hold the check in escrow until he received the car and title back. He refused their offer and will not cooperate with eBay's VPP team. Sellers like Mike Molleur who unabashedly lie and misrepresent the condition of their vehicles are a threat to the integrity of the eBay community. This seller refuses to take any personal responsibility for his deliberate misrepresentations and false advertising.

My post was not for sympathy as you wrongly assumed. It was simply to warn others about A and A II Auto Rental. Your rant obviously indicates your extreme ignorance about the whole process of buying cars on eBay and other online sites. Are you aware that eBay has sold over 5 MILLION vehicles "sight unseen"? Are you aware that EBay alone sells a car every 40 seconds? Most eBay sellers are honest and trustworthy, and buyers asking the right questions before bidding eliminates most potential problems. In the rare case where there is a problem, eBay offers a Vehicle Protection Plan that offers buyers up to $50,000 insurance coverage for fraud, misrepresentation, undisclosed frame damage or mechanical problems, etc. SO WHERE IS THE RISK YOU RANT ABOUT? I've purchased many vehicles on eBay and this is the first time I've encountered a seller who straight-up lied about the condition. The same thing can and does happen in person on the used car lot. Whether you like it or not, buying and selling cars online is here to stay.

I don't think theres any reason to bash the buyers. It is the sellers responisibility to deliver a car thats described to the T. People shouldn't be swindled like that. I would honestly look into form of legal action if possible but you might end up spending more in legal fees. I would check into it.

Here's what you did:  You send your money off to somebody you don't know, to buy a USED CAR you've Never seen...you've NEVER looked at...you've NEVER taken on a test ride...you've NEVER checked out if everything works...and you've NEVER had your own mechanic check over BEFORE putting out any money!  Then the piece of junk shows up at your place and surprise, surprise it wasn't anything like you thought it was!  Now you want sympathy from everyone because poor you just got defrauded.  I'll bet you're still scratching your head trying to figure out how this could have happened.  I will never figure out how you people will throw common sense completely out the wiondow when it comes to a damned car.  It is absolutely unbelievable ANYONE would do such a STUPID thing as buying a used car sight unseen.  Enjoy your wreck!
