A Better Choice Movers Moving Company Ripoff! Worst EVER Cheats and Liars!! Fairfield New Jersey
I chose A Better Choice Movers because of their seemingly low rates ($74 per hour) when compared to other moving companies. BIG MISTAKE. I was dealing with Matt, who promised me 15 free boxes. He told me he would deliver these on 6 different occasions, and they never came. Matt never once returned ANY of my phonecalls, despite his promises to get back to me. On the day of my move, this crew shows up with a whole list of additional mandatory charges. These guys expect you to pay ONE HOUR, $74, for them to get back to their home base once they've completed your job!!
Additionally, they refused to move anything that was wood without wrapping it ($4 per blanket, plus the cost of packing tape that they charge you $3.50 per roll for). There are extra charges for moving mattresses ($15 per mattress, $15 for the box spring too), television, anything made out of glass, desk chairs, etc. Since I was only moving a two-bedroom apartment, Matt told me the job would take about 2 hours. Well, these guys made sure to drag it out as long as they could (there were long stretches when only one of the three was working!) in order to charge me more. PLUS, one of them made a hole in the wall of my new home, and all three of my lamps were destroyed. Their estimate for my move was originally $222, and they ended up ripping me off for $520. Please don't fall for this scam. These cheats actually had the the gall to ask for a 25% tip after all they'd overcharged me for.
