A Better Choice Movers SCAM! DO NOT USE! ripoff Fairfield New Jersey
I received an estimate in writing that my move would be approximately $222, not including packing materials. I figured it to be about $500.
The morning of my move 3 men showed up. First they wanted me to sign something stating that I received a notice that I never received. They called their boss who was very threatening to me and I refused to sign it. Finally the guy in charge of the move gave it to me. I never read it because of what followed.
They walked around my house and started tacking charges on - $145 just to move my 28 inch tv, $75 each for two 12"x12" marble inlays in my dresser, $145 for my bedroom mirror, $240 for the top of my breakfront (the entire breakfront isn't worth $240), $4 per blanket with an estimated 40 blankets needed, etc. In the end, it would have cost over $1,700 to move a one bedroom apartment 2 1/2 blocks, from one first floor to another first floor. I told them to leave and I felt very threatened by them.
In the end, I found a mover the same day to move me, the cost was exactly $513. The mover was Hercules Movers in Rahway. The estimate was almost exactly what I paid, the workers didn't stop! I would recommend them to anyone.
I can see why a lot of people would have to use A Better Choice Movers because they had to move that day. Even if I had, I refused to be scammed.
