AKA: A to Z Best Home Improvements, A to Z Best Carpet Care, A-Z Best Group, Inc., AZ - Best Group, Z-Best Carpet Care.

Tim Rose of AZ Best Home Improvements, took deposits of $4950.00 from an insurance claim on our flooded home. He cashed our checks, and did not finish the work the company was hired to do. We have had to take out a loan, hire new contractors, and pay again for new materials, since we had no walls or floors.

In May and June 2004, Tim Rose scheduled five different dates to begin the work, and then simply did not show up. He kept rescheduling, we would wait all day and they would never show up. Tim would give us a new excuse each day, why he and his crew were not there, and said that it would be done the next day. It never was.

He said that he had put dehumidifiers in our home. When we checked, no one had been there, and there was no equipment. He left several messages saying his crew was on its way to complete work (which we still have on our answering machine). They never arrived. He said he had purchased materials, but they never materialized either.

We requested refunds several times, and Tim said, No, they made a commitment to finish the work, and they would finish. He wrote another contract listing that we had paid in full for materials and installation of 700 SF of laminate flooring, 60 Yards of carpet, and installation of 70 SF of ceramic tile. It listed a begin date of June 18th and a completion date of June 21st, 2004.

On June 18th he had one man partially install some tile that WE provided, did not grout it, and left. By June 21st no one else had shown up. On June 22nd we gave A-Z Best one last chance to go do the work, accompanying them to the site. Tim said that day was inconvenient. (Actually saying he was attending a seminar with an insurance company!)

We then asked for a refund, agreeing to pay a fair amount for trips to the site, and the work done, if we could get a refund of the balance. Tim Rose agreed to refund $4000.00 and then did not show up for two appointments to handle the refund.

We have been lied to so many times, we can no longer count.

This company lists in print ads, decal on the door, and plaque inside, that it is a member of the Better Business Bureau. Mr. Rose said that they were the #1 home improvement company in Arlington, with 53 employees, and had no complaints with the BBB. We never saw more than 4 employees at their shop in about 10 visits. They do not appear to be members of the Dallas Bureau, though they are listed, and showed a resolved report. Only the carpet company is showing a member of the Fort Worth BBB.

The ads also say insured and bonded. I don't know how to find out what company they are bonded with.
