Okay this issue is not about what the oil price was (annoying as it may be) or the fact that we were "lucky" our pipes didn't burst. We did not own the house, only rented it and when I tried to reason with the representative Marissa from Aabbots I was treated as if I was a scofflaw. I was sure as hell not going to get it out of the rental agent who wanted to charge us 40$ for repairing a 1/2 inch nick in the wall, nor was I going to get it out of the owner who knew that we were leaving and let Aabbots park in his lot next door. Who would have been annoyed if his pipes burst, and who had the keys to the place. The point is that we had a contract that specifically said that if we were late on a payment that automatic deliveries were stopped. They also sent a letter that specifically said that our services was canclled. Aabbots made a contract and then proceeded to break it safe in the knowledge that we wouldn't be anywhere around to defend ourselves. Had we been able to show up in court after flying for 3000 miles, we would have won the case.

Jeff, I am an ex-employee of Sun Company in Exton, PA and not an ex-employee of Aabbots. You have two choices: Lock in or choose market price. Think about oil price fluctuations. Do you think an oil company should dropped fixed pricing due to oil price decreases? Remember: You can lock in at 95 per gallon and there could be a spike in oil prices. That happens all of the time. In that example the oil company would not go back to the customer and say... "Mr. Customer, even though you locked in at 95 we would like to raise that since the prices have spiked...is that OK with you...?

mark is an employee of aabbots, i know i worked there as well. when u deal with automatic customers they get priced at market price but when prices go down lets say 30 cents aabbots would only drop price buy 5 cent making as many delivers as possible even if your account is past due knowing they'll take there customer to the local district justice for payment! your oil bill and busted water pipes are to different things.

running out... oil deliveries are tricky. even though you are on an automatic schedule your house (due to weather or whatever) you can use more or less than the previous years. that being stated automatic delivery mean the computer states when a house needs oil. the computer make a "guess" based on past usage. you could have walked down and checked the guage. most auto-users do anyway. prices... oil prices are set in the beginning of the year. you either sign up for a price for the winter(meaning you could win or lose) or you pay market price. don't fault aabotts oil for jacking the market price. that is your fault for not locking into a rate in the beginning of the heating season. delivery after you cancelled... oil company computer spit out tickets when the computers feel a customer is ready for delivery. if you STILL owned the house and you took THAT much oil why would you care that they made a delivery? i grew up in west chester/exton, pa. i know exactly how cold it is there. have you ever seen what a house looks like when the water pipes burst? you are complaining about $200 of heating oil. you get that back at settlement. sometimes more can be gained with sugar. i worked in heating oil for a few years. i had to deal with runouts on a daily basis. you have nothing to complain about from my viewpoint.
