I have now had to move to another state due to personal problems. Before I made the move I personally went into my local AAF office and filled out a "change of address" form. Thinking that I had covered all bases, I moved. About two weeks after this I received a phone call from "Patty" from "JORJA TRADING" telling me that I was not "allowed" to take the vehicle out of state and that they were going to "repossess" the vehicle. I then asked them why when I have never even been late with any payments. They informed me that Now that I have taken the vehicle out of the state I could not even be one day late with a payment or they would come and get it. This has stressed me out to the point that I put the vehicle in my garage whenever I am not driving it and I am afraid that one day when I gome out of work it will be gone. After I purchased this vehicle I was told that any repairs (and believe me there were plenty) that needed to be done were my sole responsibility and would be done at my expense. This in my opinion makes this vehicle my property, so why are they "allowed" to make threats like this? I am hoping someone reading this has an answer for me as to how to stop this company from doing this to it's customers?

THIS FOLLOW UP TO MY ORIGINAL COMPLAINT IS TO LET THE PUBLIC KNOW THAT WHEN THIS COMPANY TELLS YOU THAT THEY WANT YOU TO BE A "SATISFIED CUSTOMER" THEY MEAN THAT THEY WOULD LIKE YOU TO STOP TELLING THE TRUTH ABOUT THEM AND LEAVE THEM ALONE. I WAS CONTACTED BY THIS COMPANY WITHIN 24 HOURS OF WRITING MY REPORT. THE CALLER INSISTED THAT I BE SATISFIED WITH THEIR COMPANY SO THEY OFFERED ME A TRADE OF VEHICLES. I AGREED AND WENT TO THEIR ROGERS LOT TO MAKE MY SELECTION. I TEST DROVE TWO MINI-VANS AND MADE A DECISION ON ONE. LOW AND BEHOLD ALL OF A SUDDEN "THEIR WAS A PROBLEM WITH THE TITLE" OF THE VAN I SELECTED. SO THEY TOLD ME I COULD TRADE FOR ANOTHER VAN, WHICH WAS A VERY NICE DODGE CARAVAN (WHICH WAS 5 YEARS OLDER THAN MY FIRST PICK) I TEST DROVE THIS VAN AND SINCE MY DAUGHTER DRIVES ONE VERY SIMILAR AND THE TRANSMISSION SEEMED IN GOOD WORKING ORDER, I DID THE TRADE. THEY WERE "NICE" ENOUGH TO MAKE THE NEW CONTRACT OUT SO AS TO NOT CAUSE ME TO HAVE TO PAY ANOTHER HIGH SALES TAX WHEN I REGISTERED THE MINI VAN. TWO DAYS AFTER I DROVE OFF THEIR ROGERS LOT, THE GAS GAUGE QUIT WORKING AND THE BRAKES STARTED ACTING STRANGE. I WAS TOLD TO TAKE IT TO THE SAME REPAIR SHOP AS WITH MY FIRST VEHICLE AND WAS TOLD THAT IT WAS AN ELECTICAL PROBLEM AND THAT THEY WERE NOT QUALIFIED TO DO ELECTRICAL WORK. BUT THE GENTLEMAN THERE DID TAKE A LOOK AT THE DASH LIGHTS AND FOUND THAT SOMEONE HAD REMOVED THE TINY LIGHT BULBS THAT SHOWS THE DRIVER THAT THE ABS SYSTEM WAS NOT OPERATING CORRECTLY. HE PUT A NEW BULB IN AND NOW THE ABS LIGHT IS ON ALL THE TIME. OF COURSE I WENT AND HAD AN ESTIMATE DONE AS I WAS INSTRUCTED TO DO, AND AS IT TURNS OUT, IT IS NOT AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM AFTER ALL, SO NOW I AM TOLD THAT MY CONTRACT DOES NOT COVER ELECTRICAL OR BRAKE PROBLEMS. I WOULD HAVE TO BRING IN A PAID IN FULL RECEIPT FOR THE REPAIRS AND THEY WOULD "DEFER" MY PAYMENT. NOW I REALISE THAT THIS WAS MY OWN FAULT FOR NOW KNOWING BETTER THE SECOND TIME WITH THIS SHADY COMPANY BUT I ACTUALLY THOUGHT THAT WHEN I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WANTED ME TO BE A HAPPY AND SATIFIED CUSTOMER, I BELIEVED THEM. THANK YOU AAF, I WILL NEVER AGAIN TRUST ANYTHING YOU HAVE TO SAY AND BELIEVE ME, IF I DID NOT INFORM ENOUGH PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR PRACTISES BEFORE, I AM ON A MISSION TO DO SO NOW. AMERICA! WAKE UP AND DON'T LET THIS COMPANY RIP YOU OFF THE WAY THEY ARE DOING ME. AND AS FOR LETTING MY TRUSTED MECHANIC CHECK THE VEHICLE OUT FIRST, THE ONLY MECHANIC I KNOW HERE IS THE ONE THEY SENT ME TO, NOW TELL ME, DOES THAT SOUND LIKE A TRUSTED MECHANIC A WOMAN CAN COUNT ON?

Do you really think it is a good idea to buy used cars this way? People get rid of their (used) cars for a reason. You always want to know that reason. Usually the reason is it was in a wreck, or it has a looming problem, or it has a deferred repair. This is why new cars are usually a better deal: You know that you are starting with a blank slate because there were no accidents nor inadequate maintenance.
