I can't be too self-satisfied because I did fall for Aaron's "business practices" for a number of years. If you type Karnette Rental Purchase Act in your browser, and/or go to your states "Rent to Own" Consumer Affairs site- you will find that 3/4 of what they do is NOT kosher! The problem with laws is that if we (as consumers) are not informed or unaware of how the game "should" be played- we get you-know-whated- without getting kissed!!! Check out what these laws have to say about replacement merchandise and you will find that you DO have the right to the same or equal merchandise. If they are not able to provide it within 30 days you have a RIGHT to withhold payment. You may also find some interesting facts about how many times a day, what kind of info can be divulged, what hours of the day, and what their attitudes should be when contacting you in your private home- VERY interesting!!!!! And to the people on this site who have had Gestapo tactics used against them- Check out RAC's 7 million dollar class action settlement on the internet!!! Maybe Aaron's customers need to wise-up and come together? sign me, Never again after 7 times :(

First, Aarons is not a rental store. It is a lease to own store. When you make a purchase, it is just like putting something on a credit card. You have 12 or 24 payments and you will OWN the merchandise. So if you don't have possession of an item for 2 months, think of it as if you had purchased a tv from sears and had to have it serviced. At least you got a loaner. Second, if they were rude or pushing you around, you should not do business with them. You should not accept used items if you want new items. Call them back and ask for another exchange. Get their regional managers phone number as well as their divisional vice president's number. Call these people if you are getting the run around. However, you seem like you did not shop around before your purchase. Also, it appears as if you did not read your consumer lease. You probably went in and signed and left the paperwork in the little envelope and went about your business. Trust me, Aarons will do what they say they will do in the lease agreement, and they expect you to do what you agreed to do such as pay your payments even if your product is being repaired. I encourage you to call the store back and work out an arrangement that will be acceptable to both you and Aaron's. If you cannot resolve this, then pay out your minimum lease, have Aaron's pick up the product, and become a customer of Rent-a-center.

You are responsible for your "product" and for making the payments as agreed upon regardless of the status of said product. Just because your product is experiencing technical difficulties does not absolve you from making further payments. And by the way, "products" that come from rent-to-own establishments are hardly ever brand new. Much of the merchandise typically delivered to customers is usually returned or repossessed junk that came out of other people's homes. Keep that in mind next time you think you are buying something brand new.
