I "Googled" Kenmore Repair, San Antonio. This company came up first. I called, made the appointment and gave my credit card #. They came as appointed. My house companion, a 42-year-old let them in and showed them the problem. The tech did his thing, the announced that he did not know what was wrong with the refrigerator Ice maker. It could be one or two or three problems, but he could fix it by replacing the whole mechanism for $350. He looked at the oven and said there was no problem. So much for the Kenmore expert. The icemaker still works intermitantly, and the cramic cook top has a burner with two heating elements. Only one of them of them works. The oven door glass is missing, and I have the replacement (also obtained after many months search, on the internet), and it has not been installed. He did not find anything wrong. For this deception using "Kenmore Specialst" as a credential, he was able to get in my home and make his extravagant sales pitch. This seventy-year-old got off easy, I suppose, by paing the $43.25 serevice charge. Even that, they found necessary to call back the next day because it appears they had transcribed my credit card number. This outfit fits the coloquial expression sometimes used in Texas, "no vale por chit."
