Complaint Review: Aberdeen Financial Associates - Internet

I found the ad on craigslist(should have known). I responded by email. Approx. 10 days later I get a call from Mr. Tim Rosen saying he is representing Aberdeen Financial Associates and that he could help me with funding to 'flip houses'. I told him I owned a house in MI with no mortgage and I wanted to use it as collateral to start my business.

He said that would work and I needed to pay for an appraisal. I could pay $425 - $450 and he would hire an appraser to do the appraisal or $350 for a 'desk top' appraisal which would be fine for his company, Aberdeen Financial Associates.

He gave me the number to Ray Hutchens, Associates Appraisal Group. Mr. Hutchens said he was having trouble getting the funds from my bank account using my debit card number so could I use PayPal. I did. He got the $350.00. (11/18/14)

Mr. Hutchens texted me several time saying he was working on the appraisal and would I would have a copy soon. He sent it. (11/ 24/14). The appraisal gave a property description as a commercial laundry facility. I called him and he changed it to a concrete with stucco building. Again wrong. It's a wood structure on concrete block foundation. I called Mr. Rosen who stated that he didn't care about the description just the appraisal amount.

It apprased for $65,000 so Mr. Rozen stated i could get 80% of the value of the house. I said $36,000 was good. Mr. Rosen called me a few days later (after several attemps to call, text or email him were not returned) and stated his father was very ill and he had to spend all his time at the hospital with him and that he would get my case handled in next couple of days.

After another week of not getting any response he called (Thurs. 12/10/14)and again apologized for the delay. He stated he had my funds ($36,000) in an account he set up for me and that because of his distractions he would have an associate take over my account and the deal should be complete by next Wednesday (12/ 10/14). That was the last I heard fro Mr. Tim Rosen. I have called, sent text messages and emailed Aberdeen Financial Associates several times, nothing.

I contacted Mr. Hutchens, he answered my calls and text messages better that Mr. Rosen. He stated he had not heard from Mr. Rosen either and that he normally called him 5-6 times a day. I asked him if he could at least fix the appraisal he sent me so it was accurate. He said he would. Again, he text me every other day saying he would get it to me by end of day. That never happened. He also will not respond to my attempts to contact him.

I have an appraisal with the wrong property description and no comparison properties (comp's). I have been cheated by two professional con men. I told Mr. Hutchens to return my $350 to my PayPal account and I would quietly go away but he says he has given me what I paid for and there will be no refund. I told him I have an associate also and he lives in CA and will be stopping by to see him and Mr. Rosen. Wasted my time.

Can you do anything for me? I am so tired of these pieces            of #@%* ripping off people. God Bless!
