I have had numerous work injuries over an eleven year history. In August of 2009, I suffered two torn rotator cuff injuries, and a back re-injury during the course of employment. After reporting the incident to my former employers (Grand Valley State University) I was sent to their occupational clinic where I was given several restrictions.

I received Workers Compensation in September of 2009 then Accident Fund Insurance Company of America abruptly cut my benefits off in October 2009 after I refused to allow an insurance agent to attend my doctor appointment Jennifer Dora left a message on my phone at 7:45 am to confront me about it. (Are they even open that early)?

After being without income for weeks and in desperation; In November of 2009, I called my orthopedic doctor/surgeon to release me back to work under minimum restrictions to which after presenting Grand Valley State University with the doctor's release, they promptly refused to allow me to return to work under minimum restrictions.

I asked GVSU why am I not allowed to return to work under minimum restrictions as their other employees, and GVSU's Human Resource person Melanie Bates told me that the instructions were per Jennifer Dora of Accident Fund.

It is unconscionable that a third party insurer can refuse to pay for a work injury while simultaneously cutting off my workers compensation benefits then in collusion with my former employers GVSU refuse to allow me to return to work under minimum restrictions when they are fully aware that I had no income to live on.

I want people to know the liberties these third party insurers are allowed to take whether legally or illegally, and I hope that there is some legal body out there that would help alleviate these types of situations, and I certainly hope that I can sue Accident Fund for their part in this calamity.

I think the key here is "Numerous Injuries"...

Are you one born with major bad luck, carelessness or maybe a bit of a ripoff artist yourself.

What kind of job are you doing at a University that would cause these injuries and the amount of injuries you've experienced?

Why did you not allow an insurance agent to attend your Doctor's appointment if you had nothing to  hide?

I would guess you've pressed your luck on this to the limit and now you have another injury, you've shot yourself in the foot.
