My husband passed away after spending the last 4 days of his life bedridden. I called 911 when I discovered he had died. The local police came to our home to investigate and suggested I contact Accident Scene Cleaners to assist in the cleanup and removal of the soiled mattress and bedlinens. I phoned them and made an appointment for 9 am the following day.

Leon Warren arrived on time and told me they would take care of everything. Our Temperpedic mattress had to be destroyed along with bedlinens, pillows and even a throw rug. When I inquired as to the cost of his services, he stated it would all be covered under our Homeowner's Insurance Policy and even stated I would be getting reimbursed for all the items that had to be destroyed due to contamination by body fluids. I questioned his statement and per his request I produced our policy. He looked over the policyand stated that I was definitely covered under the Homeowner's HO3 Endorsement.

He requested I sign the contract for his services even though there were no cost shown on same. He told me this would enable him to file a claim with my insurance.

Needless to say the claim was denied. When I told him about the denial letter, he asked me for the adjuster's name and phone number stating he would talk to them and get back to me. He assured me it was covered and he would straighten the matter out. Again, it was denied. He stopped by our house to say he had met someone that was an insurance expert and ask me for a copy of our Homeowner's policy, which I gave him. His expert would advise us.

Eleven months after his services were renderred, he presented me with a bill in person in the amount of $3,582.80 which was the figure he gave my insurance carrier. The date on his bill read April 23, 2008, however, I had no indication as to the amount until the day Leon Warren gave me his bill on 3-3-09. He than wrote $2,291.40 which is the figure he wanted from me. (See copy attached) I was speachless to say the least.

He phoned about two weeks later. I explained that I had been in the hospital with pneumonia and needed time to regroup. He said he'd stop by in a few weeks and we would talk about it. Instead, I was served papers notifying me that he was taking me to small claims court.

The Court date was May 6, 2009. The settlement was reached in the amount of $2,291.40 to be paid off by me at $100.00 per month until paid in full.
