On December 17th, 2013 I submitted my LOTRO account for sale on Accountgear.com, which they offered me $484.35 for in the automatic quote window. The only email I have recieved so far from their end (aside from the "this is an automatic reply to let you know that we recieved your email" messages) was the first message saying they want to offer me the money... After which they promptly changed the password and recovery options on my account with no payout whatsoever, effectively robbing me of an account that is worth nearly $500. 

Now, I waited long past the promised 12 hour payout window before contacting them with a complaint, seeing as I had bought an account with them before and it all went very smoothly that time around, so they had my trust from the previous encounter. As usual, when I finally DID email them asking for a bit of info, the "24/7 live chat" was closed (as it is 24/7) and the only response I recieved was an automated message directing me to the FAQs.

I'm still holding out with the benefit of a doubt that perhaps I've been missing emails (none show up in my email searches), or there's been a death in the family or something so the business is down... but this is beginning to frustrate me. The money was going to be used to save my parent's car (they've fallen on hard times), and since it was never received, the car has been repossessed. 

Now I'm a patient, forgiving person, so if Accountgear contacts me in an HUMAN way (preferably on ripoffreport), all will be forgiven and I will go right back to singing their praises... but until then I advise anyone wishing to buy or sell accounts to avoid them at all costs. 

A final word to Accountgear if they're reading this - take off the live chat option from the website. It's extremely aggrevating to constantly check if support is online and to be let down every time, so I would ask that you remove the option from your website altogether, as you are clearly not live or supportive =)

Well, I waited well into January with still no response or payout, so I finally had no choice but to go through the game provider and get my account back by showing past reciepts for purchases, proving I was the original owner. Thankfully, nothing was missing or changed from the characters on the account, but the fact still stands that they stole my property and failed to live up to any of their promises of a fast payout or helpful customer service. 

 

To those of you looking to buy or sell accounts; avoid this site. Maybe some time in the past they were reliable, but now it is a waste of your time, and a loss of your money and property. And to those of you who are looking around while waiting for a response from them... get your account back ASAP!! Go through the stolen account recovery with your game provider as soon as you can, before they can alter anything.
