This company refers to itself as 'Houston Admiral' when they ring you up daily from their telemarketing room. They are Admiral A/C and Heating and use the other name when they call to bug the crap out of you. Reason being, they hope that you'll do a search on 'Houston Admiral' and not see all the posts that reveal that they have an F rating with the BBB. I think even so their negative posts show, no matter how you do the search. You will see a lot of legitimate complaints. They offer a $39.95 check-up on your A/C unit, saying it is a limited special offer to hook you in. What happens if you let them come out is the following: They will find many things wrong with your A/C unit and now they want $3,999.95 to fix all your problems. It is a pure bait and switch. Get a second opinion if you make an appointment with them and they pull this on you, and you'll see that they are trying to jack you. Better, don't make an appointment at all in the first place. Check the internet for other companies that don't have an F from the BBB. Admiral A/C does not respond to customer complaints. No really good outfit would let that sit on the internet all this time, they'd make restitutio and change their ways. Do let this happen to you.

I would like to let you know that we are not a rip off company. We have many satisfied customers all over the Houston area. It is unfortunate that we cannot make everyone happy. That is just a part of business. Even the most successful companies in the world will have unhappy customers. Our company has been in business for a long time. We must be doing something right to keep the doors open. I don't want this to turn into an argument. I would simply like the opportunity to correct anything that you feel we have done unsatisfactory. I know we can be better and it is my job to make us better.

P.S. Original poster i would like for you to personally contact me. From your post i can not see how we ripped you off. I also have a hunch that you may be a ex-employee. If i am wrong please get in contact with me. I would be willing to refund you the amount that you paid for the original inspection. I don't think i could be anymore fair than that.

Also about the BBB rating being an "F" that is true on there website but it is false. I have personally taking the steps that the BBB has told me to take in order to dispute the rating. So far i have gotten no help for anyone at the BBB. This led me to do some research on the Houston BBB. I would a very  interesting article about them. Don't take my word for it. Your bad BBB rating is somebody else's fault, eh? And an employee's fault, no less, hmmm. Bogus excuse for a long-standing problem. And no one has fixed it with the BBB all this time? (and it won't be fixed). I hear the state is about to revoke your license and that your techs turn over faster than pancakes at IHOP. Just saw a BIG AD for techs in a local newspaper. When a company can't keep people in this crappy economy, something's wrong.

It doesn't matter because there are so many other complaints against this company that it's unlikely anyone will believe the 'new management' story. That's a red herring that businesses hang out when the cat is out of the bag on their bad reputation.  And you, Mr. New General Manager, likely do not exist. Come up with something better, the cat's not only outta the bag, it's howling.

I am Troy A. Boddie, the new General Manager for Houston Admiral Air Conditioning and Heating. I have read this complaint and would like address a few of your "statements". The "F" rating by the BBB of Houston was caused by the bad business dealings of a former employee that has not been with the compnay since December of 2007. Furthermore, there are several companies in town that use telemarketers as appointment/service checkup "setters". When a company gets to a certain size, the "setters" make "life easy" to run our everyday business. If, in anyway, Houston Admirals telemarketers have misled you and also that the company has misled you in anyway, I want you to call and ask for me personally. I have been in the HVAC business for 16 years now and have always had a good relationship with the local BBB and with the public in general. I just relocated to Houston and intend on doing just that here as well.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Troy A. Boddie
