I do most of our automotive repairs and used to buy most of my parts at Advance Auto parts. They have decent parts for very good prices, especially when you use their rebates. I have done this for years, but I used to buy in the store.

Recently, I started to get special offers from them to place orders online, so I started ordering online for delivery to my home. The parts arrive in a box just like they should.

Now here is where the problem starts. When you go to place the rebate for an item, the form asks for a store number and a register number which you do not have because the parts were delivered. The computer accepts the application, but then a few days later you get the rejection notice with the message that you failed to include the store number and register number and you can re-apply only one time.

I called to re-apply because I wanted to explain the situation to a real person. I did actually get a person that could speak broken english well enough that I could understand her. She said I was rejected for not including a store number or a register number. I asked her what to do since there is no store number on an online purchase and she said ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Yes, I see your problem. That is impossible. Let me submit this directly for you and explain the situation to those that review these rebates and it will go through. I thought wow. That is great.

Then I got the second rejection notice with the same message. The notice came one day after you can submit anything and because it was the second rejection, they will not do anything about it.
