It's always interesting that the with the very few complaints we've had, the pateint or complaining party never leaves a name. We will attempt to find this patient's chart, but more than likely inadequate bone existed around the remaining 5 teeth, therefore they could not provide anchorage for a partial. We strive to provide the best denture and partial denture services for our patients. Being that we have an in house lab and we only do a certain aspect of dentistry, we are very good at it. That being said whenever a patient doubts my recommendation I strongly encourage them to seek a second opinion. I also encourage them to engage their general dentist in questions b/c sometimes a dentist may fix a tooth with an expensive filling or crown when there is significant bone loss and the tooth may loosen up or fallout in 1-2 years. I know this b/c I've seen it. Its unfortunate that some people misinterpret our recommendations and our intentions. Side Note: I never assume a patient knows something. Our goal is to inform before we perform. In dentistry, it is unfortunate that only displeased patients retaliate via the internet, but you seldom hear from the happy ones. Most of our patients are very happy with their treatment and the quickness with which we are able to provide it, but I suppose you can't please everyone--though we certainly try.
