Affordable Heating & Cooling Shawn Leddy Don't be mislead, true con artist. Loris, South Carolina
This con artist, came into my house to repair my broken oven, he had a great sales pitch for a whole house appliance and heating and a/c warranty policy. He preys on senior citizens....I opted for the policy. (Global Warranty)
In order for the policy to be effective, he must inspect all the appliances and systems of the home.
Upon his inspection, I was told that the coil in the air handler needed replaced (the home is only 5 years old), he replaced it (or so I thought) don't think it was a new unit. Then he said that the heat pump needed to be replaced. So in order to get the federal tax credit this had to be accomplished by 31 Dec 2010. I agreed, the unit that he installed, was not new, was older than the one I had; wasn't installed properly and was the incorrect size for my home. Now I must replace everything.
He has many adds in the Super Yellow Pages, with the shield guard, that doesn't mean anything. And the Yellow pages really don't care, just as long as the ad is paid for.
I have filed a complaint with the SC Department of Consumer Affairs, but no positive actions. The BBB of SC has many complaints with many different company names.
