AFNI, Inc. AFI trying to scam me and collect on a fabricated bill. Bloomington Illinois
I signed up with QWEST last week and I'm supposed to have my service turned on tomorrow, August 7th, 2008. I get a collection letter in the mail today from AFNI saying they acquired my account from QWEST and I'm supposed to pay them $43.41.
I immediately called QWEST and they have no record of any thing like that. The rep even laughed and said it's "impossible, since you don't even have service yet". He said it sounds like a scam to him.
DO NOT pay these people or talk to them until you speak with the company they say they bought the account from.
