Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I never received a letter, never received any phone calls and then my credit monitoring company says I have a new derogatory account. I go look and it's this AFNI company saying I owe $51 for a Qwest account. My phone is through Qwest it's still connected and works fine. They couldn't tell me anything without giving my SSN, which I wasn't about to give out, especially to some guy that barely speaks English. I will be following up with Qwest, BBB, AFNI, Experian and anybody else that can stop these ruthless people from ruining peoples credit.

This is why AFNI is such a detestable collection agency....They have ruined the credit ratings of more innocent people than any other collection agency out there. AFNI bought a bunch of ancient debt that they quickly found out was uncollectable due to the age of the debt and that most of the original debtors had moved. Their solution: Place damaging notations on the credit files of people who have similar names/addresses as the original debtor to basically extort them to pay debts that they don't owe. 1) DO NOT pay AFNI one penny simply to clear your credit files...If you do you will validate the debt as valid and you will own it....They could then keep this paid defaulted debt on your credit files for years. 2) Send a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt to Experian stating: Notice of Fair Credit Reporting Act Violation This alleged debt from AFNI that was recently validated is not mine. Per the Fair Credit Reporting Act, I am requesting validation of this alleged debt. =========== 3) Send a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt to AFNI stating: Your firm has damaged by credit rating with your posting of damaging info on my credit file for a debt that I do not owe. Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I am requesting: - written validation of this alleged debt and that said alleged debt is within the statute of limitations. - a copy of the original signed contract Either validate this alleged debt or remove it from my credit files. If this notation is not removed, I will have no choice by to take legal action per my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. I also file reports with the Attorney General of Illinois if this bogus notation is not removed from my credit file
