It's not your job to validate the debt...it's AFNI's. Send a letter via Certified Mail + Return Receipt to AFNI stating: It is not my job to validate debt. It's the responsibility of the debt collector upon receipt of an offical request per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act . Your firm has damaged by credit rating with your posting of damaging info on my credit file for a debt that I do not owe. Per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, I am requesting written validation of this alleged debt. Remit the following as validation: - a copy of the original application for this alleged debt which shows my signature - verification of the original Date of Deliquency for this alledged debt - verification of the Date of Last Activity for this alleged debt Either validate this alleged debt or remove it from my credit files. If this notation is not removed, I will have no choice by to take legal action per my rights under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. Receipt of this letter is being time-stamped by the USPS. If I do not receive a response within 30 days of receipt, I will interpret this as a refusal to document the validation of this bogus debt and I will have no choice but to take legal action per my rights under Fair Credit Reporting Act.
