My vehicle was in accident/incident on 495W/95S, Sunday, January 19th at 9:15 pm due to the drive shaft of Petroleum truck coming off. The part came off the truck and bounced up and went under my vehicle, damaging my radiator and air conditioner condenser. All the radiator fluid leak out and I could drive the vehicle, nor get any heat from it. I called my insurance company, Progressive, who put the call into Agero to have a tow truck come out to me at 9:25 pm. I sat in my car with my 3 year old daughter and husband in an unsafe location after getting off the Woodrow Wilson bridge in weather conditions below 27F until 1 am until we were able to get a family come out and sit with us until a tow truck came. My daughter is now sick and I've been having aches since then. I was told on more than 5 occassions by dispatchers and managers at Agero, a tow truck was on the way and would be the in 90 minutes, 30 minutes, 45 minutes, 10 minutes, 15 minutes and no one arrived until 4 am, Monday, January 20th. Aegro called 4 different tow companies. The 1st was told there were only 2 people in the vehicle and attempted to get a truck that had a cab for all 3 of us to fit in. There were able to satify the need and refuse to pick the car up. Then they called Springfield Wrecking and they didn't want to drive 107 miles to tow the car. The 3rd also didn't want to drive 107 miles and the 4th came from Richmond, VA to Alexandria, VA. This took 3 hour to get to us from about 1 am. I would have allowed the State Police to have vehicle towed off the parkway, but didn't have the funds to cover the cost, so I had to wait for the tow to come through Agero. We didn't get home until 6:30 am, Monday January 20th.

Who feels comfortable, not going above and beyond to provide service to someone desperately in need and then tells you that if the State Police feel your in a dangerous area and poor conditions, let them have you towed away? I would never recommend the to be used by anyone!

First of all agero aka cross country is a joke. My company is a service provider for them. Agero doesnt pay out what they should for any calls they give to any towing company. Your wait should have not been no more than 90 minutes at the most. I get calls to see if we can do tows, road service, and other services in other states.

Agero doesnt have a zip code system set up for towing companies. They are the worst road club out there. Your better off getting AAA. I know because we tow for the road club. The reason why no towing companies would come out is because they dont pay the amount they should.

So due to your comment you are wrong. The customer should have been serviced the way AAA would have.

To the consumer, call your insurance company and cancel the road service part. Purchase a AAA membership instead. You will be glad you did.

The world doesnt revolve around you princess. You HAVE to accept this tiny little FACT!! There were OTHER PEOPLE AHEAD OF YOU!!!! Since you could not pay out of your pocket you had to use your insurance and the companies they were calling were BUSY. More then likely with similar problems tied to the heavy winter you are having. If you want to blast ANYONE, it should be yourself. Obviously you do not have a good winter setup in your vehicle. There are MANY things you could have done to keep yourself warm. I would suggest that in the future you make a GOOD emergency winter kit. Portable hand warmers go a long way. I would also suggest that you pick up a inverter and a small forced air heater. Push comes to shove that will keep you warm. Dont forget blankets. You can "create" a tent INSIDE your car. Using blankets and hand warmers can keep you warm and alive in some brutal conditions. Also put some "trail" foods in your trunk. Jerky, trail mix, some hard candy.

The insurance company has no control over your situation. Im sure they understood the urgency of having a child in the car in the cold. You are unfairly blasting them because YOU HAD TO WAIT!!!! The world is not the internet and things just dont happen with a click of the mouse. There were other people who had to wait as well. You were just one of many people DEMANDING they get serviced first because THEY are oh so much more important then anyone else. Get over it and count your blessings. That situation could have left one or more of you dead in a ditch if that transmission had gone any higher. Count yourself lucky and move on.
