ALCO CUSTOM COVERS Alco covers Alco sales Matt Bauman Wrong size, refused to remake or refund Fernandina Beach Florida
We ordered 4 commercial grade blinds for our patio on June 20th 2018 in the amount of $3712.00. When ordering the dimensions were emailed to Matt at alco covers. Two of the dimensions were 160 inches wide and two of them were 137 inches wide. This is how big the opening is where they were getting mounted. Finally received them 6 weeks later than promised. When we recieved them we opened the packages and put them together, one curtain including hardware is 164 7/8", one is 164 3/8", one is 141 1/4" and the last one is 141 3/4". We have never ordered anything from this company before, no one mentioned that the roller that the curtain sits on is 3" longer than the curtain itself. When we called and talked with Matt Bauman and told him our issues that the cutains were too long he stated that it wasn't their fault that we should've looked at the pictures on their website and seen that the rollers were sticking out on the ends.
I explained to him that I am in the construction business and we don't order things by pictures, when we need something ordered to a specific size we measure the opening with a tape measure which is what we did. We measured the opening and emailed those measurements to Alco. The first measurement was 137" total width, they made it 141 1/4". The second was 137", they made it 141 3/4". The third was 160", they made it 164 3/8". The fourth was 160" and they made it 164 7/8". This is not what we ordered. They are all at least 4" too long. Why ask for measurements if they aren't going to make them that size? I am in the construction business, if someone tells me that they want a deck 12 feet long, we don't make the deck 12 feet 6 inches long. Measurements are given for the purpose of having the item fit when you get it, if I give a measurement of what I need and they make it 4 inches longer that is not my fault. So the last conver that I had with Matt Bauman I told him that I either wanted a refund of the $3712 or the correct size curtains shipped to me and he stated that it wasn't his problem.
So now I have 4 curtains that are not even close to fitting in the amount of $3712. Alco absolutely refuses to fix this problem. All of the correspondence with alco is documented by email showing the size required that I sent them, the invoice that they sent me has my sizes that I requested on it, but the materials that they sent me are not even close to what was ordered and they still refuse to correct the problem or refund the credit card. On top of the wrong sizes the quality of the item is terrible, when assembled the rollers have big bows in them and are not straight, the inserts are loose and the ends are not even cut square. It appears that they forgot about our order and when I called them to find out why we haven't recieved it yet they hurried up and threw them in a box to get them shipped out.

ALCO works on thousands of orders yearly and from time to time there is a misunderstanding and/or error on our end. When these issues do arise we attempt to resolve them in a way that the customer is satisfied.
In this case we were able to work through the issue and provide a resolution that the customer was happy with.

Recieved the correct size curtains

Just recieved the new curtains for the deck, they are now the correct size as far as width. Matt offered 20% off total cost for the trouble to make it right. Curtains are mounted.
