Aldelo believes you should buy a customer support contract.  To take it a step further, they will make it very hard, if not impossible, for you to maintain your software without one.  Lets say for example, you lose your password.  As it was explained to me, that will cost $500 (1 year service contract) since restoring the password is a multiple step process that requires re-building the database.  

Can this be done by paying a one time fee for support rather than having a full year contract?  Yes, but it would be dumb because there are multiple steps.  For each step you will be charged $99 dollars and eventually you will have been charged almost $500 dollars anyways.

Are there any other options?  Yes, get support from your re-seller. 

To make matters worse, in an effort to get everyone to upgrade, Aldelo recently decided to make passwords expire in the old version of the software.  With no way of changing it, your options are to pay $500 for a year long support contract or to upgrade your software.  Bottom line is if you have purchased software from Aldelo, be prepared to pay fees.  

Bottom line is if you don't have a service contract, expect to be pressured into one.  My advice, avoid Aldelo altogether and find a provider with better and cheaper customer support.
