Alex Delatoba, AD Communications, called Monday April 28, 2008, at about 12noon, claiming to be calling from AT&T, to my small business in Chula Vista, he claimed my phone lines needed immediate repair and that the cost of this repair would be $1,300. He then said that the on-site price would be only $250 and that the repair needed to be fixed within 24hrs or my lines would go bad and I wouldn't have phone service. He said work would be done on exterior of building and would later stop by my shop to collect the charge.
Alex Delatoba, AD Communications, stopped by my shop at about noon Tuesday April 29, 2008 and demanded the money for the 'repaired' phone line.
He handed me his business card without the AT&T logo. I got on the phone to call police and he took off running.
I then called him at 619-301-4049 and he admitted to trying to defraud me, that no services had been performed or needed, and that he had performed these scams before and he wouldn't do it again if I didn't tell his wife or police.
He also admitted that his family and friends are not aware of his money-making scams, and that he did this in order to travel and live beyond his means.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS INDIVIDUAL AND COMPANY.

He handed me his business card without the AT&T logo. I got on the phone to call police and he took off running.

I would like to know what could have been wrong with yuour phone lines that would take $1300 to repair. ( phone wire sells for less than 20 cents a foot) replacing phone lines (the wires) should be a simple matter. sounds like some companies prey on persons not understanding it is not a high tech problem

I own a few buisness in the chula vista, eastlake and otay ranch community. I have worked with this individual for many years.This individual has worked with At&T and compares his prices to At&t and other local carriers. Just maybe the person that wrote this awful comment and Rip off report just wanted to have a free fix and is accusing an individual for nonsense just to make a quick buck himself. Alex is a a very respected individual that the chula vista and san diego area has gotten great service and may i add great prices. He has a long list of very respectful customers from the senetor to school board councils as well as us community buisness owners. I was sick to my stomach when i came across this awful and nonsense rip off report...I ask my self how many other rip off reports have you written just to make a quick buck or two.

P.S. Me being in law enforcement, I will be taking appropriate steps for this individual to be found and prosecuted.
