ok so on jan. 19-2016 i file for a divorce without a lawer. i then found out i needed a form called a qrdo to get half of her retirement i could not find this form any where so i ask the clerk where i could fine one she told me i would half to hire an attorney. on feb-8-2016 i hired alex hairston from hairston law.i told him that i needed a qrdo he ask me where she work and to come back in to days at 230 in the afternoon. i then had to pay his paralegal to help me fill it out. on april 11 we had to go to an early conference me my attorney an my ex. my attorney said this case is going to trial so a date was set. my attorney ask me again what did i want out of my divorce. i told him i wanted her to pay for the damage she did to my car one of four animals we had and half of her retirement. hit should have been a walk in the park.
then he called me and said my ex and her attorney wanted to meet with me and him on may 19 2016 i told him no i did not want too. he then said that he could not represent in court i said ok.the folling week i ask him if i could come and get all the paper work that he had on my divorce he said ok when i got there this was may 26-2016 he said he could not let me go to court alone and that my ex and her attorney still wanted to meet latter that day.again i said no he then said that it was crucial to my divorce so i said ok i then told him to not let me say or do anything to not be able to get half of her retirement he said ok. so her attorney was drilling me on things and i keep telling him what i wanted or i would take half of everything witch included half of her retirement an half of the furniture and half of the bills. then my attorney took me to a different room and said to let him go and talk to them.
when he came back he said they were offering me 500 a month spousal maintenance again i told him i wanted half of the retirement so he went back and when he came back he said ok its done they were doing the paper work . when the paper work came in and the guy handed it to me my attorney grab it and said to let him reed it first he said it look good and pointed to where i should sign i said can i reed it he said youl get your copie so i sign. when i got home and read it i only get 600 a month spousal maintenance and a flag pole thats it but i dont get spousal maintence until after we sell the house and close of escrow witch still has not happen and its almost august. i thought when you hire a lawer that they do every thing in there power to do what you want them to. buy the way i have been married for 30 years and i live in a community property state witch means even retirement plans are split 50/50 and now i cant go back and change it i hate lawers i could have done better with out him any way thank you for reading and dont hire alex hairston for your lawer.
