All About Granite Beware This Company's Dishonest Ways Ajax Ontario
We hired All About Granite (Formerly known as Decor Amour) back in February of last year to do a basement renovation. The supervisor guaranteed the work would completed within three weeks time. When in fact it took their crew five weeks. Not sure if this was due to the fact that they subcontracted the job out to other contractors (who by the way were far more efficient, courteous and timely) or if it was the lack of communication between Deco Amour's management and the contractors they hired to do their work for them. It also may have been due to the fact that their management really did not come by to "check up" on our renovation/project sufficiently or often enough....
Regardless there ended up being an altercation (nothing too heinous but discouraging none the less) between the sub contractors and Decor Amour's supervisor in regards to a discrepancy about payment for completed work. Three quarters of the work had been completed by the sub contractors, and apparently they had not been paid. Also from what I gathered from that overhearing that disagreement/conversation the management at Decor Amour also owed the contractors payment for materials/supplies. I could understand the reasoning for the sub contractor to be aggravated by this, but what was I to do? My husband had paid for the job in full already....
Although they did complete the job eventually, the fact that the management at Decor Amour (in my opinion) scammed the sub contractors that they hired out of $3,500.00 (that's just going by eavesdropping) has been bothering me since Feb. IN addition, the sub contractors job was much more appealing visually, and when my brother in law (who is a home inspector) came from Buffalo to visit he pointed out numerous flaws in Decor Amours work, but not the sub contractors... My husband and I will be neither re-hiring nor referring Decor Amour/It's All About Granite any time in the near future. As we are weary of the shady way their head representatives operate.
