QUOTE ACCEPTANCE
- After
hearing the quotes I choose All My Sons Moving Quote for $600 dollars on March 18, 2013. I was told it would be $600 dollars at 1 truck 3 men. Their online email stated 1 truck 3 men @ $125, but when they got to the house the quote changed to $130 for 1 truck 3 men.
-I received many emails from the company from multiple email addresses:
[email protected],
[email protected], Father and Son Moving Corporation
MOVERS ARRIVAL
-On Mar 23, 2013, the movers arrived at the house at 9:39 am. I was greeted by the driver and we discussed my moving agreement. He asked me what was the quoted price and I told him that the company quoted $600 dollars for the move.
-The driver took my information and imprinted my credit card. I asked him was he going to put a price on
it, but he stated that the company would be running my credit card from their end.
-I signed some papers that were explained to me by the driver to be insurance papers that said All my sons insurance would be liable for damages. The statement font was around 3 pitch.
-I signed the paper and I asked once more to the driver are we set and the price did not change from what was quoted, he said everything is set and the home office gave him permission to start.
-The driver asked me were they packing my things. I said to him, packing was a part of the quoted price. He said that seems to be a little inexpensive. So I told him to check with the home office. He came back and said that they gave their approval.

Driver Calling Company to depart 2228
Ellington Rd South Windsor
- We
left at 3 pm and arrived in Norwich around 4 pm
Discussion:
When the truck arrived at 19 Pine
St Norwich the driver called it in and came to tell me that something was wrong
with my credit card and I needed to call the bank. I have a $1500 dollar limit on the card.
The driver said I owe $2845 dollars
and if I do not pay he had to lock up the truck and take my furniture to
Stratford for storage. I called Norwich
Police.
Three Norwich policemen arrived to
discuss the matter. The company
continued to refuse to deliver my furniture without payment. Lt Ladd stated that he would have to impound
the truck if the company would not release my furniture.
I
learned that the moving company would take my furniture to their warehouse and
charge me $55.00 storage, traveling time 1.5 hours, overtime for their moving
people, and more money for them to redeliver my furniture. What I saw was that I would eventually owe
the moving company around $10,000 dollars to receive my own furniture, if they
were allowed to leave my place in Norwich Ct.
The
police discussion lasted 3 hours with the moving company finally giving their
permission to offload my furniture around 9:20. It took the movers 45 minutes
to offload the truck and leave.
Once
the truck was unloaded the driver returned to me and asked me to sign papers
saying that they offloaded my furniture.
I would not sign and in fact I wrote that I was not in agreement with
these statements or the entire move at all.
The
mover stated that he could not leave unless I sign it, but I refused knowing
that the company was very dishonest. The
driver refused to give me my freight bill unless I sign the paper. He later called his company and they gave the
driver permission to give me the paper.
Summary
Father
and Sons moving company verbally quoted me $600 dollars to move my
furniture. After arriving to 19 Pine St,
they tried to charge my credit card $2845.00 dollars, which was not authorized
by me. When they could not charge my
credit card, they tried leaving my place and put the furniture in storage in
Stratford Ct. Norwich Police was called and they had a 3-hour conversation with
the company and stated to the company that what they were doing to me was
illegal. Therefore, if the company
refused to offload my furniture the police had no other alternative but to
impound their vehicle. After 3-hours of
going back and forth the moving company agreed to take $1500 dollars from me
and pursue the rest in a civil suit.
When I receive the final bill the moving company applied the 3 hours of
police time to the bill at overtime charges, which increased the bill again to
$3011.00.
Norwich
Police department saved me thousand of dollars in fraudulent dealings from a
dishonest company. This company
increased their price, from the quoted price, more than 500%. This type of business dealing is wrong and
very deceitful. I will be going to civil
court and filling a counter claim for $900 dollars once the company bring me up
on charges.
