I took my mink coat to Allegria Guenoun, Alley's Alterations, Remodeling and Repair to expand under the arms, move my button and hooks over and replace my collar with a fox collar. I took her a my fox shawl to use for the inset in the back and for the collar replacement.

I explained well to her what I needed. She said she had worked at a major fur salon doing alterations and she knew what to do. I asked if she wanted me to write the instructions down. She said, "No". She told me it would cost $500.

Approximately 22 days later, Alley called, my coat was ready. I tried on the coat, it seem to fix well. Alley did not move the button and hooks, she did not change the collar. When I pointed these two items out, she said she would change the button and hook then. I said, No, thats ok, I will move he button and hooks. Alley said, "You do not want to change the collar". I had found her so impossible and overbearing, I simply wanted to be finished with her.

Four days later when I removed the coat from the bag, I noticed the back collar seam had not been stitched to the new fox inset in the back. Looking down into the coat, there was HVAC, 2 inches wide throughout the coat. The coat had not been stitched. It was held together with HVAC, plumber's tape. Some of the seams under the arm were already pulling apart, open seams under the arms.

I called Alley. She wanted me to bring it back and at first I agreed, but later that same day, I found more HVAC tape in the coat and was enraged. I asked for the returned of my money. Allegria Guenoun, "Alley" refused to returned my $500.

In Columbus Small Claim coat, Alley testified that I had only paid her $250. She had me to initial the ticket that I had received my coat. She brought the ticket to court after putting a line across the $500 and writing in $250 above my initials. In order to make this believable she had to say that I knew about the tape and tears before I left her house. What a nightmare. This is why guilty people come to court. They are good liars.

In 30 days the judge will render a decision. In the meantime, I hope everyone who has ever had a fur item altered by Alley will check the interior of their garment. It is so unbelievable that someone would totally destroy a female mink coat and fox shawl, use a large HVAC tape inside the coat, leave tears, open seams, no stitching... and think she should be paid.

Before court, Alley did agree to make a contribution of $50.00 per month, for a year, to my Charity. I would not agree to these terms. I wonder if she thinks $50 X 10 = $250. Sure hopes the judge picks up on that information.

Now, I am out of a mink coat, a fox shawl and $500. Outrageous!!!

I am the owner of Alley Alterations. I would like to clarify this report and set the record straight. This customer took me to small claims court where the case(#2009 CVI008-711) was dismissed. I have excellent references and still doing business as I've done for years.
