Because of finacial difficulties (Job Loss) I was unable to pay my Captial One Card and it became delenquent. Alliance One recieved the account and stated calling me repeatedly on my cell phone. On average I recieve 6 to 10 phone calls a day. They always call twice in a row and usually hang up the first time I pick up,sometimes on the second call they hang up as well. When I did get to talk to someone they claimed that they could not stop the hang ups as it was a problem with thier system.

When asked to pay in full I did try to be civil and explain that I could not make a payment until I had enough money.

I have a mortgage and a car payment that take priority.I asked that I not be called so often as It was unlikely that I would come up with money in the two hours since the last time they called. I was told simply "the calls will continue until you pay". I have been called a deadbeat by a "supervisor". I have bean called lazy, and have been questioned about my moral integrity because of my inability to pay. One guy told me to not pay my mortgage so I could pay them, he said that the mortgage company would let me defer my payment. I tried to explain to another guy that I couldn't even afford to heat my house and he scoffed at me and said I was lieing "you don't need heat in Arizona"As I write this we are supposed to get down into the 30s in my area.I feel harassed and at this point will not pay them even if I had the money. If I could I would sue for the stress and harassment.

I don't feel that they need to harass, insult and crank call people to get a bill payed. Hopefully Capital One and others will see the mistake in choosing Alliance one and use another agency.

Defering mortgage payment

I think what the collector meant is that in most states, there is an allowance to defer one mortgage payment per year. It might be something worth checking into, not to pay the collection agency, but to catch up on some of the things that are not charged off. If your mortgage payment is a lot every month, then one payment this year might allow some help.
